EURO 2012 KNOCKOUT ROUNDS

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Imagine the Confidence Boost Pods and Mert will get if the Germans win.....I'm thinking of how we could benefit.

:D

See I thought like that re cesc a few years ago when spain were winning the world cup and the euro's but if anything it only whetted cesc's appetite for winning even more, so when he seen he wasnt going to win any medals with us it only accelerated his departure back to spain :(

What a snoozefest... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz  :| :(

And the cheating and diving from both sides was embarrassing.

To see men fall over holding their faces and howling like they've just been glassed is pathetic. One of my team mates last year was elbowed in the eye. Split his eyelid. It bled a bit. Our coach wanted him off to the hospital to get stitched. They argued. My teamate won. He played on with a big old lump of vaseline holding his cut (kind of) closed. Now, if an overweight, part time footballer with a terrible left foot (sorry Nick!) can man-up like that, how come superfit athletes in their prime can't?

Fuck goal line technology - FIFA need to start dishing out severe retrospective bans on players that dive - before the game we all love becomes unwatchable.

Living in Spain I would like Spain to win for my friends here, but their style of play at the moment bores me senseless and, despite not being a fan of Germany, I want them to win to maybe make Spain think again about their approach.

Iniesta has responded to criticism here of the team being boring by blaming the opposition for being negative, but if you play with no strikers, build attacks very slowly etc your opponents will have plenty of time to get men behind the ball.
One on-target shot in the first 90 mins tells it all.

The thing that worries me about spain succeeding in this way is that our CIC looks at the spain and barca way as THE way and before you know it we will go from 2 up front a few years ago to 1 up front for the last couple of seasons to no fcuker up front at all

Yeh, but with Song, Ramsey, Diaby, Frimpong and the fat Russian in midfield, how could it fail?

All of the Italian players showed pride whilst singing their national anthem. Unlike the Germans that couldn't be bothered to sing.

So what? After a European superstate is imposed, then all of the Euro countries can get use to singing the German's anthem.

Snigger, but true.

3-1 Germany

Daft team selection by Germany. I can't see Italy conceding two goals now.
