I think that it is time for all fans to accept now that a vote for wenger is a vote for kroenke and gazidas. The 3 of them are so entwined with the "current business model" that you cannot reasonably excuse one of them from any blame and at the same time point the finger at either or both of the others. If wenger was not complicit in the "profit factory" that our club has become then he wouldnt stand idly by as his rep and that of the club continues to nosedive. If the two yanks were not complicit then they would have sacked wenger long ago for continued mismanagement of our club that has done and continues to hinder any chance we have of bringing trophies back to our club again. Right now I pray to god that usmanov buys out these c**ts asap so we can put this club back on the map again

I have spoken before about the sheer lunacy of dropping mertesacker today and several hours on the anger at that decision has not subsided one bit  What I will say, and I have said for the last 2 months, is that our first choice centre back pairing should be mertesacker and kos - I am a big believer in the best partnership rather than the best two defenders should be the choice and for me mert with either of the other two is the best way to go. For me tv5 is too renegade to play cb as he continually gallops up the pitch and leaves the defence exposed in the same way song did before we finally got rid of that c**t  Prior to today bouldie has been lauded for the defensive turnaround but today, when needed, we saw a return to days of old so maybe pat rice wasnt the problem after all

Finally can I just say that the only bright spot of my day today was the pleasure of sitting two seats away from an absolutely stunningly fit bird who was literally poured into her jeans and had a fabulous pair of tits on her :barscarf: :gus2:

Augie i feel your pain but im afraid there is no way in the world that he is ever going to get the sack he doesnt spend their money, when he does he immediately recoups it with a nice little profit he gets them in the CL places therefore making them more money. The only way i can see him leaving is if he decides to leave which im afraid aint going to happen.

I have been warning you all about Wenger's new contract. The love-in factor at the Coventry game was overwhelming. He is here to stay until 2016 earliest.

So another 4 years of signing substandard French dross, selling our best players, dropping our most consistent defenders, not having a proper captain, having tossers in goal, winning fuck all, making patronising remarks in the face of supporter discontent, and not making any substitutions in the first 70 minutes of a game whether its 4-0 or 0-4.......we can call look forward to !

Real fans have real patience

Orbinho
Only one team in Premier League history has had fewer than 10 points after six games and gone on to win the title - Man Utd 2002-03.

Great post Augie and fair play for making the trip over from Ireland. There was me thinking the London traffic is getting too much to put up with to watch Wengers latest flawed side stumlbe into CL place glory in the same way it has for the last 46 years or whatever it is.

Agree about the trio of Wenger, Kroenke and Gazidis. I despise them all and each one is neither 100% responsible or 100% innocent.

I think Wenger is the worst of them all though. We had problems before either Gazidis or Kroenke were at the club. Its tragic that after several incredible years that Wenger has become such a grotesque individual. But he is slowly killing my passion for watching Arsenal and I resent him for it more and more every year.

People say get behind the team but how can you get behind something you dont beleive in?

Ramsey OK in attacking midfield but looks unsettled in central midfield, much rather have Coquelin there next to Arteta; at least until Wilshere returns.

Podolski looked tired, right to sub him.

Chelsea marked Podolski and Cazorla efficiently, credit to Di Matteo.

Jenkinson has come on a lot in getting forward.

I cannot criticise Wenger over leaving out Mertesacker; Koscielny was arguably our best player last season after RvP.
Damned if he plays Koscielny, damned if he does not.

I don't think they necessarily 'marked' Cazorla, I think they stopped us from playing deeper and consequently we didn't get the ball to him in dangerous positions. Also, Gervinho against a flat back 4 is a mismatch. Disappointing because the fact that we had enough chances to draw or even win this game, and that Chelsea didn't look like scoring apart from our two calamitous error shows that even well below par we could easily have taken something from this game.

I fear we're too easily predictable tactically again, set up behind the ball and press hard in midfield and trust us to fuck up at some stage at the back.

I've always thought that the moronic and nauseatingly adolsescent chant of ''who are ya? who are ya?'' was only sung by smalltime fans with an inferiortiy complex about their vastly superior opponents.

It was the kind of chant that fans of Chelsea would sing when they came to Highbury to play London's best club in London's most beautiful stadium.

So why the fuck do our home fans shame us by singing this to the likes of Chelsea nowadays?

Do they not realise how embarrassing this sounds? All parts of the ground sang it after we equalised today accompanied by the raised arms and pointing fingers.

Do our fans now feel inferior to Chelsea that we need to give them the status they crave by trying to taunt them with this? It is disgusting.

I have even heard in recent years the Emirates crowd goading the fans of lower division teams in cup games with this cringeworthy chant. Arguably this is worse.

Is this REDactions idea of atmosphere? Maybe Im overreating but I never want to hear this used by Arsenal fans.

We used to have more class than that. What the fuck has happened to our club?

Great post augie

Sadly as SteveO says Wenger isnt going nowhere in 2014.Gazidis is already taking about giving the him a new contract now.It has everything to do with the profits the club makes. At any other big club in Europe a club the size of Arsenal the manager would have been sacked after just 3 trophyless seasons.Del Bosque was sacked by Madrid after winning the CL Mourinho sacked at Chelsea Rijkarrd sacked 18 months after winning the treble yet Arsenal football club is rewarding a manager who gets paid £7m a year who hasnt won anything for 7 years another contract.
Wenger will never be sacked so he knows he has a job for as long as he wants. That cannot be right in any line of employment. It should be a results business on the pitch not how much profits the club makes from selling our best players next summer

Augie get used to it mate, we are in a period of transition and we all know that there is no way of knowing how long these transitional periods can last. If the other premier league teams finally agree to implement financial fair play rules, then surely we will have a chance of finally justifying our refusal to spend money when needed and that has to be as good as a trophy  Meanwhile unless you have photographic evidence of said beauty with big tits, then sorry mate, rules is rules and without them, she didn't happen.

I was hoping that having had the night to 'sleep on it', I'd feel slightly better about yesterday's shambles but nope I still feel fucking miserable.

The only thing I'm looking forward to is coming home from work tomorrow reading what that condescending *word censored* Patrick Barclay has got to say in his London Evening Standard column. This time last week he was virtually embedded in Wenger's rectum with his pearls of wisdom about how his transfer policy had been truly vindicated and how the snipers had got it all wrong and had been well and truly silenced.

Well Patrick, in the same way you were able to cast judgement after a whole FIVE games, let us give you an update one game later. We're 7th - behind West Brom (who have a game in hand) and a point above West Ham (who also have a game in hand). No doubt when we beat Olympiacos - those renowned heavyweights of picking up away points in the CL - we'll all be scuttling back under our rocks, as Wenger proves us all wrong once more.

'Defensively we were not at the level needed'

on Chelsea's first goal...
We did not attack the ball, on either goal. The difference between Chelsea on set-pieces and us was the way they were in the air - it was obvious today

on the performance...
I feel we played against a good team, but we gave the game away. They had three shots on target and scored two goals, from soft set-pieces. Defensively we were just not at the level you have to be in a game like that, which is where we were punished today

Nice to see we've learned all those lessons of the past seven seasons then. Who'd have thought that defensive naivety would cost us the points against one of the big four clubs eh?

It was obvious to us too mate - you're the "I've worked for 30 years in football" genius that is supposed to be paid to sort out this shit. FFS - they didn't even have Dogbreath to terrorise these days but instead that renowned hardman Torres to fling our defenders aside like little children

I had a dream last night that Wenger had resigned overnight on the back of this latest farce. I'm hoping that its one of those recurring dreams - roll on sleepy time
