Still think 60m may tempt Suarez, next few weeks will tell, esp if the mousers start to sink faster than us

There they say Is The Rub.
They are vadgier than us by some way surely, dont you think?
Yes I do, BUT, they have this player called suarez...apparently he bites the opposition, calls them bad names and he even knows how to score lots of goals he never stops running ...but he costs £40,000,002 - and so we cannot afford that much. :D

In the game I watched we gave as good as we got and contributed fully to an entertaining game which, although we were always chasing, could have gone either way. City deserved to win - but 3 goal margin was definitely harsh. There were at least 3 incorrect offside decisions, a blatant penalty not given and a very debatable one given at the other end (if there was contact then it was Milner finding Chesney's leg rather than the other way round)... Trouble is that every one of those 5 critical decisions went against us!

Add to that the ridiculous scheduling that meant we travelled back from a tough game in Naples in the early hours of Thursday morning and then play the earliest of the weekend kick offs...

Went into this game with a real fear that we'd be found out - but performance (if not the scoreline!) proves we deserve to be considered as title contenders!!!

I agree with much of what you are saying and especially the bit about the match officials who were absolutely horrendous today and they couldn't have done any more to help citeeh  :x

That being said, we were royally raped in some many areas today - yes we could/should have scored more but I also agree with steve o when he says that everytime they needed to step up a gear (after we scored), they did so and then went casual again and that, more than the scoreline, reflects very badly on us
Have to say, and I realise that I am probably alone in saying this, but I wouldn't have given us a penno for zabaleta's "handball" today - replays clearly show the ball striking his thigh before bouncing up and hitting his arm. Yes we will see them given more often than not but that doesn't make those decisions right either and I would be seriously pissed if a penno was given against us for that.

Lastly, can I just say that playing our part in an entertaining game means fcuk all to me - I am a Gooner that grew up with the boring boring Arsenal tag and tbh it never really bothered me because we were winners. Playing silky football but winning f*ck all was the mantra of our scummy neighbours and for me I would rather we returned to those days. Going to teams like citeeh is all about grinding out results and not entertaining the watching millions

Ahhh, but you're missing what we're doing 'in the greater scheme of things'

I'll let Demented210 fill in the blanks on that one.....

I was watching the game where we only turned up for about 10 minutes once we were 2 goals down and conceded 6 (yes six) goals.

Both times we got ourselves back into the game we sat back and conceded within a few minutes. Utterly spineless. City are a good team especially at home but their performance was hardly top drawer so to ship in six really tells its story about us.

"could have gone either way"

how do you breathe with your head that far deep in the sand? honestly they scored whenever they wanted to, they were much more incisive than us and kept us at arms length most of the game, it's quite feckin obvious we don't have that pace in the centre of the park either. wilshire was pedestrian all game and looked so far out of his depth, I don't know how bad he has to play before people realise he isn't the player we thought he'd become.

City were clinical, the linesmen and ref were pure shite and I thought we looked dead on our feet in the last 10-15 minutes. We were still trying to get something from the game though and that approach plus being a little bit in the red physically cost us at least a couple of goals. We certainly looked threatening for most of the game which is one positive we can take, definitely more threatening then any other team that has gone to shitty this season.

What was disappointing though was that we seemed to be carrying a couple of passengers which we just can't afford to do at this level. Monreal and Wilshere were particularly disappointing. Oh well, I was expecting to lose and we did but anyone who watched the game knows there is more to it then the "Arsenal ship 6 goals" headlines that will be in tomorrow's papers.

Spineless is the key word, but what do u expect with wenger in charge, his 4th place is as good as a trophy sums us up,all happy this week because we qualified for the next round of a competition tht we will never win ,all about qualifying cos of the money earned, loser mentality from the top down to the bottom which as extended down to some of the posters on here.

Change is needed from top to bottom but never going to happen cos the money is rolling in.

Trying to outscore the opposition isn't such a good idea when we are so outgunned by them.

We were carved apart in the middle of the pitch today, wide open space for Toure to maraud through right up to the centre backs - we had to be disciplined and focused today to get any type of result and we were nothing of the sort, lose the ball and walk / jog back with no urgency at all.

3rd is the very best that we can hope for this year, and that depends on Utd not getting back into their stride.

Imagine this has been brought up previously but apparently Mertesacker gave Ozil a bollocking in the dressing room for not applauding the away fans with the rest of the team (Wenger basically confirmed as much) and Wilshere could have earned himself a ban by giving Citeh fans the finger.

Couple that with conceding 6 goals and we've got all the hallmarks of handling the pressure well :barscarf: :banghead:

Is this the same person who only recently was chastising us for not being "happy"?

Telling us not to worry bout the future?
Breaking news mate - the futures arrived and is reflected in the past and weve seen wengers future for 8 trophyless years

Losing today didn't dissappoint me, as I thought we would, but its the predictability of it all that pisses me off. Go into the game against decent opposition, and bottle it, and it happens over and over again. What can be said about Professor clueless that hasn't been already, he has become a loser, a man who prides himself on the mediocrity of a top four finish, and nothing else. The embarrassment of having Giroud as our main striker today, as shit as the performance was, a top striker would have had a couple of goals, and Giroud isn't it, and as for the alternative, Bendtner doesn't even want to play for the club. Also its become pathetic to listen to certain fans who will say anything other than the truth when it comes to the club. The sort of morons who will defend Wanker no matter what. Still though, top four here we come.
