Danny Welbeck Signs (dont moan)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

it's always the same in wengers world. If he bought a team of 27 year olds he'd run out of excuses, and promises of a tomorrow that will never come.

No point in picking him out above the others cos they were all dogshite  What I will say though, is that last night summed up what many have always said about him.....works hard and has great pace but when it comes down to consistent finishing, this guy is not at the top level and a £16m price tag or an english birth cert will not disguise that :( That he didnt even hit the target with any of his 3 good chances is fcuking woeful though
Look I know that quoting the 2 players together is wrong but in order to make a point I would say that Henry in his first few games for us was also woeful at finishing but kept getting in the right place. Danny Welbeck will never ever be as good as Henry, of course he won't but I really do believe that he will come good.

One of theirs on the BBC website at half time in the Shammers match

Why has Brendan Rodgers bought players that he never plays? Typical waste of money

There's no bigger bunch of fickle, moaning *word censored* than that lot

Thought he had a pretty good game today. We didn't really get going but I can certainly envisage him causing a problem if we get the likes of Ozil and Ramsey on the ball around the box because he makes a lot of very clever runs in the inside channel.

His pace means he is far less likely to get isolated than Giroud. His movement is far more dynamic whether he's looking to get in behind or showing for the ball, and his ability to turn a defender means they are more reluctant to get so tight.

Welbeck with Ozil playing the 10 and Walcott wide right, Sanchez wide left should be terrifying

Must say I am pleasantly surprised by Wellbeck. Not just with his ability to get into goalscoring positions , but his all round link play and as we saw yesterday the killer pass to ozil for the first goal.

I don't think he has come anywhere close to full filling his potential for manure or england, but at Arsenal he will have every opportunity.

I agree. I said when he signed that this could work out and every game he plays I get more and more convinced that this young lad is loving playing up top, gives everything for the team and given this run in the side up to Xmas will be just what he and we need. :barscarf:

He said himself that he is still 'settling in' to the way Arsenal play - and getting to know where his team mates will be at any given time in a game....Very Promising :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

I didn't realise that SaNoGoals has been injured for 4 games. I thought Wonga was going with Welbeck on merit but basically we had no other strikers!! So once the postman is fit it will be interesting to see who plays, I bet Wonga plays one one week and the other the next. He won't let his new love child (NoGoals) down!!

Fuck, that is worrying. :worried:

I guarantee that once SaNoGoals is fit he will start up front and Welbeck will either get benched or pushed out wide. Arsene knows, and no one, NO ONE mind, will tell him differently. :x

I don't see Sanogoals playing over Welbeck. Sanogoals will be on the bench and may get some minutes in a game where we are winning comfortably or losing and we need to go 4-4-2. Welbeck is only going to get better and he is miles better than Sanogoals is (and probably every will be). As mind-numblingly dumb that some of the decisions that Wenger makes, I can't see him giving precedence over an uncordinated player.

Le postman isn't injured in my opinion - I suggested a couple of weeks ago that if welbeck started against citeeh, the club would come out with a line saying that sonogoals was injured because otherwise he would have to openly admit that the lanky French c.unt was dropped and mr ego was never gonna do that  Of course le postman has a history of being injured so its quite possible that he is injured again, but my money is on the fact that it is all bullshit
