Re: city away thread
Dreadful stuff to happen to a loyal supporter. How can we live in an age where free speech is a one way street? If they don't like what you say they attacked you verbally and/or physically.
And all in the name of a failed leader and his vanity project...
I remember as a much younger person walking down Avenell Road on match days, seeing the Commissioners at the main entrance to Highbury and thinking "that is class and this is my club" Cannot think that anymore..

Re: city away thread
Don't post much as I'm rapidly falling out of love with my club after over 30 years of support but thought I had to comment on this. I took my 8 year old son to the Norwich game and we both held up the 'time for change' placards (I know some disagree but that's the only way I felt that I could show displeasure, I also booed the TO1AW chant too which ended with a few words with the cultists), but I digress.
My point is that if people are prepared to physically attack other fans then they are not Arsenal fans but owe allegiance to the boring and monotonous Arsene FC. When the old parasite eventually does go then they should follow him although I very much doubt any serious club would want Mr '30 years in football'. Threatening people with children just for a peaceful protest against their saviour is the actions of vermin and as another poster has mentioned I do not consider myself part of this club anymore. That could have been me and my boy a couple of weeks ago and that is not on.
I hate the bowl, I hate Wenger for what he has done to the club because of his own selfish agenda but most of all, I am beginning to hate my own fellow 'fans' and it won't be long before I just walk away from this club that I no longer recognise, the Arsene fan club are welcome to it...

This is exactly how I feel. I have always been immensely proud to be an Arsenal fan but the only feelings I have for the Club now are for what we used to be.This is our club! wrote:Don't post much as I'm rapidly falling out of love with my club after over 30 years of support but thought I had to comment on this. Arsenal today is just like any other "brand" - all about image and profit. North Korea would be proud of modern Arsenal.

And the saddest thing about it is that there are thousands of us that feel the same way.

Frank, you're a Legend. You stuck to your principles and brought the campaign to the forefront of the media. A very big high six buddy....

Re: city away thread
This makes me both Angry and Sad.
Frank is a Long standing Gooner as we all know - he is also a decent person - and for to this happen to a friend and to a fellow Gooner AND to someone who was simply holding up a Banner ( a piece of material with honest words on it) that some lowlife slag decided didn't fit in with her ickle wengy AKB world - and so in trying to aggressively stop his peaceful protest got him assaulted and almost arrested - which would have meant a criminal record and all the fall-out that follows on from that...
Wenger should hang his head in shame and never dare to represent Arsenal in any shape or form again.
I wish the worst upon Wenger, Kroenke and the Board and all those involved in this cowardly assault - I hope Frank is able to follow this up and that those involved are identified.....
No doubt the Low Life Slag who started the violence will hide away behind some twitter account....may she be found out and then may justice be swift and the pain long, slow and telling.

I don't know Frank personally but I salute him for what he's doing! These guys are real freedom fighters and once Wenker and his regime are gone they should build a statue to honor these guys.OneBardGooner wrote:This makes me both Angry and Sad.

Re: city away thread
it is quite disgraceful what happened at City, but sadly what Frank said about fighting a losing battle is worst of all, and interesting that he reckons that people from the club were planted in some of the empty seats for the Norwich City game. I imagine that the AKBs trying to take down the banners are also planted by the club which is why they are so aggressive.
my own feelings about going to the bowl these days is that the people who go are simply not who you would want to associate yourself with anymore - they are certainly not football fans most of them.
I also do feel that the club as well as trying to stop these protests are probably trying to get a lot of the hardcore, long term season ticket holders to quit going. they know once they get even more tourist type season ticket holders into the bowl the protests will be even easier to stop.

Re: city away thread
I cant think they would send people in to beef up the hardcore support ,red action are muppets but not even they would get involved in something so murky and that's the only fan group they are in dialogue with apart from AISA who again would baulk at this.
One things for sure though the more Old school Arsenal stay away from away matches , its more likely that they are being replaced with AKB's especially away .
From the videos I saw they deffo made a beeline for DT who is now well known and a target ,he will need to watch it as if anything kicks off at home they will ban him !
Frank if u want to attend the Villa game get in touch u can sit near me ............without trying to sound hard no one will go near you if u are
with me I can assure you !

Perhaps that is what is needed some of the Old Skool Herd to stand beside/near/with the Banner Holders - And so disuade any of the AKB window lickers from attempting to grab the banners / assault the banner bearers....

Re: city away thread
Fair play to you franksav for standing up in what you believe in. I seen somewhere as well that your man claud got abused, I just did not think it was as bad as this
