Arsenal are expected to make a new appointment to their backroom staff this summer but have scrapped the appointment of a director of football after resistance from manager Arsene Wenger. (Evening Standard)

This transfer window is going to be very interesting purely because the club, its cúnt owner, and spineless Board, have all implied that Wenger getting his two year extension is intrinsically tied into an actual "challenge" for the PL title. For that to happen we need to keep Sanchez and Ozil and add 3 or 4 really top class players to the first 11.

The sickening thing is, these cúnts are so brazen they will sell Sanchez and replace him with some piddlingly average Giroud/Welbeck clone... and so many of our fuckpuppet JCL AKB wánker fans will call "$anchez" a "Juda$" and STILL hail Wenger as the right man to manage us. It's all so fucking predictable.

Even though the highlighetd bit is in the statements coming out from the club, I don't think it makes the slightest bit of difference. He has gone at least 8 years without really challenging, both shareholders and the sheeple still support him, so I don't really see anything changing. Would love to be wrong and see a full scale rebellion but I just don't see it happening...

Have to agree with Nick on this, no matter what he does or how he acts OGL seems unassailable. I reckon as far as most of the sheep, the board and our Stayaway Owner are concerned he could do anything and get away with it.

I reckon our Free transfer and a few middle of the road wannabees or neverweregonnabees is our lot and it will be the same tired old excuses, we worked night and day 24/8 but no-one who was the right fit was available and unfortunately Sanchez had to go because of his disruptive nature and outrageous demands (No mention of his own outrageous wages though)

They have actually edited that page. The original article on that page had no qualification of the role and had Wenger advocating a Director of Football. I know this because I looked it up a few months ago when he came out with that "I don't know what a Director of Football means" shite.

Now the club have taken out some of his quotes and added this little qualification; "* It is important to note that no job title has been specified. Therefore the label 'Director of Football' is being used as a blanket term for this type of role.".

The actual original quote from Wenger in 2007 was;

"There will definitely be a director of football coming and it will definitely be my choice. That is something I will be looking at soon. At the moment I am doing both jobs - the one that David Dein used to do and my own. I was in a good position before because I would handle the football side and David would do the ugly stuff, the business. Now it's all down to me. It's difficult because that side of it is very time-consuming."
