The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ospina is quality. It will be the closest thing we had to Seaman and Manninger with him and Szczesny.

Now, I know I am dreaming here but - why are we actually not going in for Cavani? Wenger has good links at PSG, the player wants to leave, he is off the back of a poor world cup which may make him more attainable. It would pay for itself in shirt sale ffs!

I know it will never happen but I don't see why we cant ? /:

Fucking Wenger :cussing:
Lol. People just love a moan on here. Eisfeld is a decent talent at best, was never ever making it here with the plethora of superior talent we already possess in his position. Hilarious.
I'm with 1989 on this, god forbid people over reacting on this forum

Please, please, please tell me you are not comparing Szczesny to Seamo in that equation.

1989 how do you have time for breathing between all the foreign football you obviously watch to have a definitive view on every possible signing and swallowing every transfer rumour that surfaces?

I'm disappointed he didn't get a chance but ultimately trust the club regarding his departutre, but I think "never going to make it" is OTT. Cazorla is 30 this year and a more ruthless manager would view this as a defining season for Wilshere to carve out a role in the squad, as well as Rosicky being on his last legs. After a season out on loan it's far from inconceivable that there would be a space for a young creative/central midfielder to be welcomed into the squad. Obviously we thought he couldn't fit that bill.

Gnabry really impressed me last year - fast, strong and direct. A basic but lethal combination. I know he was injured intermittently last year but I thought he was unlucky not to feature again. He should be playing first team football, did someone say he's already been loaned out?
He's on his way,Saints,Barcodes and Villa interested. My preference would be Barcodes and Geordies. Villa look like a relegation waiting to happen

Hopefully he can get us his brother-in-law James from Madrid in two years time as Cazorla's replacement.

No sign of that, but v odd he didnt play v Borehamwood, wonder whats happening with him.

Would be very surprised if he gets sold, a loan maybe but at the moment he is on Pravda as no 27 (Cf number 44 last year)
