THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

For a man who played as a defender you'd think he was more inclined to have an understanding of how to coach a team to defend. :?

MM99 is right, accounts say we've run a structural deficit
and its been covered by player sales

Selling or keeping vanStaplecunt and Na$ri isn't commercial v football
its an easy decision, how could you pay £20M+ for a one year loan
of a player who doesn't want to play for you...?

Wenger makes plenty of real mistakes, no need to add imaginary ones to the rap sheet

to constantly continue to get top 4, year in year out after having to sell our best players deserve some credit, we relied so much on RVP last season
and to think what has come in, has been average at best. and we still stride for a top 4th place

Are you taking the piss ? :? We didnt have to sell our best players and wenger has picked the shite players that were brought in so to give the man credit for causing this shambles is fcuking ridiculous :banghead:
bollocks we didnt have to sell our players. what can you say to van rapist when he specifically says he wants to go to utd on the last year of his contract? of course he's gonna go. what can you say to nasri when he gets offered double his wages?

wengers picked the shite players cos thats the market we have to shop in. you win some you lose some. it dont take a genius to work out why our record fee is only 15.8m. it dont take a genius either to look at the accounts and see the only reason this football club makes a profit is cos of player sales.

blame wenger for his shit formation and playing players out of position but bollocks to saying it's his fault he can't spend the money. bollocks to the 70m warchest as well cos thats a load of tabloid shit. read the accounts. the money ain't there.

And bollocks to the theory that wenger was powerless to stop the players leaving  Wenger sold players that had 12 months left on their deals so they couldn't force their departure despite what the pro wenger camp would lead you to believe  I hear/read a lot of bullshit about how the club would have to be stupid to ignore the £20m+ deal on the table for rvp and allow him to walk away for nothing a year later but if we fail to finish top 4 this season how much will we lose in both financial and prestige terms by allowing rvp and his goals to leave and join a rival team ? Can you honestly put your hand on your heart and tell me that old ferguscum would have sold have sold his best player to us in that situation ? If you believe that he would have then you are delusional mate.
As for the nasri situation it was totally different - the guy was/is a grade A c.unt who delivered 4 months out of 3 years and nobody could turn down the money on offer for him.

Your view on the purchasing situation is skewed beyond belief too - look at the money he spent on gervinho, Giroud.....are you telling me that there wasn't better players available in that price range ? Are you saying that buying podolski and gervinho to play as wingers when he already had ox,Wally, rosicky and cazorla to play there made sense especially for a team that have no quality DM and are weak in the goalkeeping position ?

Tom Watt can host the ever-positive post-BBQ phone-in. He can insist that the BBQ was a roaring success and describe how great we are to have a genius like SteveO whilst cutting off any callers who have the temerity to complain that in fact the BBQ was awful as everybody had to pay £15 to get in, it pissed down all night, hiring Augie as the clown backfired as his doom and gloom demeanour upset the kids and a total of 12 guests were hospitalised (one by a gas-tank explosion, 2 with particularly vicious cases of food poisoning, and the rest were driven to self-harm by listening to McDowell reeling off hundreds of players that Arsenal are interested in signing).

Arsene will come out and say "StevinhO isn't prolific. When he gets a burger on the grill he panics and tries to get rid of it but he will get better and better."

Are you inviting Diaby to your BBQ SteveO ? - If you do, you will need to provide him with a chair, as there's no way he can possibly stand for longer than 10 minutes without injuring himself...
