As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Just a thought!
It was a game that we were always going to lose anyway - so to lose so heavily was probably the best thing that could have happened to us.....
Either that or maybe he's not even the one doing the spending. Perhaps the club are forcing these deals through now. Unlikely imo, but no weirder than Arsene suddenly turning trigger-happy on the old credit card.
If even half the stories of bids and buys are true i think that is exactly what has happened....I think after the game on Sunday the suits have probably taken him aside and gently told him that his part in negotiations for players are over, that deals needs to be finalised even if they do cost a bit more than you wanted to pay and if he wants a 35m player we need to offer 35m not 15m...
And what we are seeing now is them having a free role to recruit the players Wenger wants and needs but without Wengers obsession with getting everything as cheap as possible, or not at all...I think the Korean is a Wenger buy undoubtedly, but i think anything else that goes through in the next couple of days will be done without his expert financial opinion curtailing negotiations..The sad thing is whilst we are all getting excited at the possiblity we are trying to sign quality in the 30m bracket he's probably shaking his head in disgust and angered at watching his project coming to an end ...
of course its all theoretical at this stage, but funny that the fee being knocked around for matersacker - 26 years old 75 caps - is around 8million, whilst Bolton seem to be asking double that for Cahill - 25 years old 3 caps.

english players are overrated duh. We could sell for example Walcott for nearly 30 million tomorrow if we wanted but if he was any other nationality he would be 10mil max.
Cahill would be the icing on the cake, but can't see it at this point. Imagine having Per, Tommy and Cahill as CB options, we'd go from being the shittest defence to the very best!!

Imagine a defense with Shezzy, Sagna, TV5, Per, Santos with Cahill as backup. I'd not complain.
