Wouldn't get overly excited just yet,the victims are sniffing round and may need this kind of statement signing after they've lost out to us and the scum on players they really wanted

Shame we can't just slap £40m down in front of the old lady and see what she does.

Vidal and Sanchez in our line up and I would get a definite semi

Love it, last year it was Ramsey this year Wilshire.

What is it with you oirish gooners. Why dont we start looking at shitty paddy arsenal players. The first in a very long line is Eddie McGoldrick !

Fcuk off and dont bring race into this
Brady, Jennings , o Leary, Stapleton, Nelson, Morrow , mc goldrick, Quinn Devine. rice Mancini and terry Neill
I'll give you mc Goldrick and morrow, Quinn at a push but jackie boy is not fit to lace the boots of the rest of them at the moment so I'll see Augie fuck off and raise you an up yours :box:
I'm in, Out of those on a skills basis only Brady was better than Jack but he fucked us over to get a move to Italy, Stapleton fucked us over to get a move to manure and was very limited but could score goals, quinn was shit, Rice is a legend as is Nelson, don't remember the rest.....

Brady was superb, a legend.
I understand why he moved, we were a Cup team under Neill and he wanted to play at a higher level.

Rice, Nelson, very much club men, double winners, Rice a really decent man, Nelson a gentleman (pants down moment excepted!), have met both once.

Jennings I have time for, yes he is a Spurs man but he conducts himself with dignity and still visits Arsenal.

Morrow is back at the club doing good work behind the scenes, was an underrated player, well able to mark the opposition out of the game, Ampadu is with the youth coaching staff too.

I suppose Keown can be included, a club legend in my mind, obviously played for England but of Irish descent.

A number of others have played too, O'Shea, Barrett, Cregg etc.

We had some nasty anti-Irish stuff on here from a certain member now banned, no need to go back to that, let's keep it respectful.

Think he has a point mate regarding one or two posters :rubchin:

Lefty he didn't same SOME of the Irish posters did he ? That kind of bullshit sweeping statement really pisses me off cos I don't judge players by their nationality and nor do I judge fellow forum members that way - I have zero probs with people calling me miserable/pessimistic/grumpy b*stard or whatever but I will not accept being judged on the basis of my nationality and anyone who does so can fcuk right off as far as I'm concerned  :censored:

If you don't remember the rest then you are going to have a hard job compiling a "long list" of shitty paddy players aren't you

Generally, your best players are present in the starting lineup as they enhance everything.

What makes you think Wilshere "reinvented" (whatever that means), warrants a starting spot ahead of Ramsey who's better than Jack in virtually all facets of the game?
Yes, well I guess we disagree. I think Wilshere has the right aggression and temperament to make it as a hard tackling, ball distributing DM whereas I think Ramsey is better suited forward BUT in the proposed system there simply isn't a spot for more than one Ozil/Ramsey/Carszola.
DB10GOONER wrote:Wilshere to anchor the midfield. Fucking hell. Has anyone checked up on sid? He must be seriously considering a spree killing right about now.

But in all seriousness Wilshere is too light, too injury-prone, and let's be honest here, too dive-prone to anchor a PL midfield.

I reckon even the dumb fuckers in the media must know this. I think they just had nothing to put on that page and thought hey fuck it let's just make something up. SOP in other words! :x
Well well well - finally someone agrees with me......
Erm... are you mis-quoting? I DON'T agree that Wilshere has the right aggression and temperament to make it as a hard tackling, ball distributing DM.
was talking about the news story, I know you don't agree :-)

Agreed, I've no problem compiling lists of crap arsenal players, no need to stick a nationality in the title

There's absolutely no chance Vidal would go to Liverpool. Zilch.

What about Claude Makelele?

I suggested Wilshere could be turned into a DM in one of the other threads a few days ago. He's got aggro, can tackle, can distribute, and gets about. He needs experience, some gym work and discipline but his days going forward seem to be limited as there are just too many better options and he makes poor choices.

I reckon if Wenger gave him the trade off to make this specialist position his own through hard work and discipline he could thrive.

To be honest, in my view, for Jack - it's either reinvent himself or go to a mid table/lower team where he will get game time.
This. Thinking back isn't that what Sebastien Schweinsteiger did in albeit different circumstances?

I remember an article suggesting Capello wanted to do a similar thing with Wilshere in the England team.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... nmark.html
I think it has great possibility. But I also think Chesney is good and will be a star. Also think we should play 4-1-3-1-1.
I know Jack is a bit off and not progressed and had a smoke but he doesn't really deserve the bollocking he's getting.

Just because he's arsenal through and through people are willing to overlook the reality. He's done nothing in the game. He offers little when he does play as he doent seem to know what he's suppoesed to be and he plays the game in a poor spirit.

If he cut out the ehining and histrionics he would be given a lot of slack for having gone backwards. But as it is he should be a bench warmer for us or be a big fish for a mid table side. Englands and arsenals future cannot be built around him as pysically, mentally and brain wise he's not good enough I'm afraid to be a starter for a club of our supposed aspirations.

Christ. What the fuck is your major malfunction? Are you that mortally offended that not everyone thinks Jack is world class (yet anyway) that you resort to bringing nationality into it? Why?

Oh, and you do realise Ramsey is not English, right?

At the moment he is completely unfulfilling his promise. When he burst on to the scene I personally thought he had all the attributes to be genuinely world class. Obviously he has to take responsibility for his development or lack of but I do feel that Wenger/the club don't really work well in these situations. He should be told that he is fighting for his future at the club as we have lots of options in midfield but instead I get the feeling he's just another molly cuddled star player who is continually told how great he is. I still think he has more natural ability than Ramsey but Ramsey is showing way more intelligence on and off the pitch at the moment so gets in the team ahead of him.
