Sadly my Dad has been a Chelsea fan for all his life so sadly have to put up with stick re the result - although he did say the match was pretty open, sadly there's also a fan at work who won't shut up about it - although he knows nothing pre 2004 Chelsea - glory hunter?

At the start of the day I thought it would be much worse and we started the match strongly but AA23 was far too selfish and apart from that 1 sexcellent shot didn't do too much, Song kept messing up and is going backwards this year - we need a back up player to push and motivate him! Flappy played ok but as always you know he's going to screw up. Leading upto the match Sky's adverts showed Kanu, Winterburn etc and it made me sad to see the lack of desire we have with current players.

Ah well, still got record profits remember, hard ro look for players to sign when all that money needs counting :banghead: Maybe I can beat Chelsae on Fifa
no, its just they had done fuck all pre 2004

We were better than I'd expected particularly in the 1st half but after that it was same old, same old. We have no cutting edge and their team are a lot better than ours are. Granted we were missing key players today but the result would've been the same even if they had played.

I thought Clichy was our worst player, the usual poor crosses from him and he was endlessly out of position.

Arsene can big his players up all he wants, they aren't good enough and haven't been for 5 years now.

Better get ready for chants of 6 years and you've won fuck all because this is where it's heading but maybe we should start having open top bus parades for our financial results.

If we have an open top bus for financial results at least the Bank Managers can do it instead of the players - mind you most of them would be in the treatment room grateful for a large contract for doing F all :x

I don't class many of out=r 1st team as kids anymore because after 4 or 5 years they sould be better or they weren't good enough to begin with. Song, Denilson, Clichy, Bendtner are average, we are used to better. Mind you the latter Graham years had average players so who knows things may improve down the line once the debt is clear there's no excuse

First half was decent but failed to get the first goal which tends to be vital in the top clashes.

The longer the second half went in the stronger Chelsea became. Arshavin got worse and worse as the game went on.

Chamakh looked lost up front and the bench lacked anyone capable of making a difference in ANY game let alone away at Chelsea

Just got back from The Bridge. Knew the defeat was coming when we failed to convert our early chances. You cant afford to miss them against the big teams. Drogba got his inevitable goal and from then on we knew a 2nd Chelsea goal would kill the game.

Like I said in a post before the match, he was evens to score at anytime, I think that's a very generous bet as he ALWAYS scores against us
I should have seen your post earlier. Evens was unbelievably generous odds 'cos Drogba to score against Arsenal is a banker. Well done!

On the one hand I'm thinking that this only one result and we shouldn't overreact.

On the other hand.....Jay Emmanuel-Thomas coming off the bench to rescue us against the Premier league Champions at Stamford Bridge....? I know we have a good few injury problems, but that was pretty desperate....!

About as desperate as the bloke who only scores when we are 5-0 up

I thought he was a good substitution, though he shoulda been put on earlier so he'd have a chance to do something. Powerful, big guy, and kids always have a lot to play for which gives them a high energy level. Sometimes they can really shine on the big stage.

I hate to say it, but look at Danny Rose v us last year.

CanadianGunners will have a full write up in the next day or two, keep an eye on the sig!

Hey, if I'm going to be depressed - if not surprised - may as well make some money out of it.
Bring Back Pires 1-0 Arsene Wenger's project.

Well well well that was never going to happen was it. Another game where we dominate the pretty passing before being sucked in and shown how to put the ball in the net. The Chavs never had to get out of 3rd gear and then I get home and what do I do? Listen to Wenger trying to pull the wool over my eyes again. Arsene, GOALS win matches matey not possession so don't pretend we nearly won it because they were happy to let us have the ball knowing we wouldn't create any clear cut chances.
And I'm sorry but my patience has gone with Arshavin. Individual flashes of brilliance don't make up for a lack of effort and failing to look like you're actually part of a team. Can't believe Wenger lets him piss about so much. Just wish Adams was in the dressing room telling him what he thinks of his work rate.
Would we have won with our 1st XI out there? Maybe, maybe not but having said my patience has gone with Arshavin, it's being severely tested by the Manager and the way he treats us like idiots by trying to convince us that these players have finally reached the point when trophies will start arriving

PS Stamford Bridge is officially quieter than Highbury ever was!

How does the P.A. announcer get away with spouting all that crap before and at half time?? Saying that players have gone off injured and certain teams got beat in other games then saying lets hope Drogbas goal see's off the gunners .
The bloke is a 2 bob wanker and should be done for not being respectful in his job.
Sums that lot up
The majority of the fans have been going for about 10 years max.

We'll never know if we would have won with our strongest side out today but i'm guessing probably not, we're not good enough and ALWAYS get found out when we play the now big three of chavs, united and lately now even city who we've got away next so we'll probably get done there as well. I said we'd get done 2-0 today and i'm gonna go with the same score when we meet city in a few weeks. Happy days. :(
