As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

That way, others get to hear them and as the away support are generally the same guys, the songs will soon be learnt by most of them. Once that has been established, people not at the games will perhaps pick up on them and it can then spread around the gooner masses at Ashburton. It's simple really.
actually the logical step is to turn our ground into a pub

Originality is not our strong point when it comes to the chants. I have tried and you do get groups that try together, but its very rare that support is given if no one knows the chant.
Im going to get battered by The Cook for this but this is where redAction should come in, isnt it? He was quick to jump on my post last night but still hasnt answered Hlebby.... What do they do other than design flags or put little ones under each seat?

I am not one to slag off REDaction but they don’t focus effort on chants and they really should
All it would take is 30 guys to sing it over and over from the pub, top the concourse to the ground. Both home and away until it spreads.

We do need more effort with it
whats the point of asking people to send in Jack songs, put them to him and get him to choose his fave and then not sing them

OK i must have mis-understood it then but even so if you have an organisation who's sole intention is to improve atmosphere and they cant gather their members to sing new songs and get them known then whats the fucking point?
I don’t get that either. The banners /flags and getting the blocks 5 and 6 was top work and I cant fault them for that. I would never cope with Arsenal if it wasn’t for that.
However the chants are fucking awful , the website is dated and no one really try with new chants.
Its all well and good suggesting ideas on face book but that’s not going to help matters. I don’t know how to join REDaction and I don’t know how many members they have?
But surely they can arrange 30-40 or so guys to start off new chants?
Well I suppose I should answer IHH’s original post to keep Flash happy ; He mentioned 'atmosphere enhancing', but I don’t know where that quote comes from. The tag line you might be referring to is as follows : ‘REDaction is an open forum of Arsenal supporters, whose aim is to improve the atmosphere at Arsenal matches, and to help support our
team as best we can’. REDaction have never claimed to be ‘atmosphere enhancing’, as we cannot do it all on our own, so perhaps Hlebby was just paraphrasing.
I have previously made the point on here that REDaction consists of six blokes who like a lager and a sing song, who have been organised enough to sort a few things out at the new ground over the years. But, at the end of the day, we are still only six blokes, and six blokes can sing a new song for as long as they want, but if on one else is gonna pick it up and run with it, then what can you do? Regarding the ‘pushing’ of the new song, so far REDaction have :
• added it to the Facebook page, which has 4600 followers (obviously including many non-match goers), and received both positive and negative feedback
• Included it in the weekly email which goes to 2200 subscribers
• Arranged for ‘Just Can’t get enough’ to be played on the PA on home match days
• Sung it in The Rocket both pre and post match, with varying levels of success.
So, if anyone would like to suggest what else can be done, then I am all ears. Flash and Mikey in particular, as we are out of ideas.
I am a fan of the song, but with hindsight, it is not sufficiently ‘Wilshere-centric’ ; by that I mean if you cannot hear the first line, you cannot work out who the song is dedicated to – look at the Nasri and Chamakh songs, their names are repeated over and over and are therefore unmistakeable.
If people want to come along to ‘The Rocket’ with 30 of their mates, get on the microphone and hammer this song to death, then you are absolutely welcome to do so. However, this involves making a sacrifice and leaving your normal boozer and missing out on drinking time, etc, and not everyone wants to do that, which I totally understand. It is the normal attitude of ‘Can’t someone else do it?’, but each of us has the power. Song ideas received by REDaction are always replied with ‘get on the mic at the Rocket and sing it for us’ but people seldom want to do that ; It’s more a case of ‘Here’s some words that rhyme, not get on with it, and I want to hear 60,000 singing it next week’
Mikey commented on the REDaction website, but forget about that, it is hopelessly out of date, and upgrading these things cost money, and following the cancellation of the Christmas party and subsequent costs incurred funding is definitely an issue. Instead the emails and facebook page are the way to go.
In fact, I would like to conduct a quick poll to see how many of the regular posters on here are subscribed to the mailing list? That will keep you up to date with all activity and you can send your feedback in, good or bad..
Mikey also commented about ‘joining’ REDaction, but it’s not really about membership per se, send us your ideas, and we see if we can give them a push along. If you did join up, Mikey, you might find yourself at the stadium at 9am on a match day trying to persuade stadium management to let the big flag move around the lower tier, so think of all the lost drinking time!
I see the continuous digs on here, and sometimes respond in an inappropriate manner, so apologies to Flash, DB10, Rebel and anyone I have had ding-dongs with previously, but please please remember that we are not Tesco, or Microsoft, or Toyota, Redaction are six average blokes who love the Arsenal, and a sing song ; Our influence only stretches so far.

I dont agree with that. Your influence can spread much further
