I think the medical staff and training methods need looking at, Newcastle have had a great season for the fact they have been able to pick the same players week in, week out and get some consistancy
Would love to see Sagna, Kos, Vermaelen, Gibbs play together for a virtually a whole season
They should be, on paper, a pretty solid unit - but they must put defence first, Gibbs particularly, and the cover from the midfield needs to be a hell of a lot more than it is / has been.
We still lack the physical presence at the back when dealing with the long ball game, so that only encourages teams to use it more. The BFG, for all his height, is no tower of strength at the back and is far too lightweight at the moment.
none of our midfield take any responsibility for tracking runners or sprinting back if they lose possession (which they frequently do) - this is something that the manager should be drumming into them at training or screaming at them on a match day. If they haven't got the work ethic then they should not be at AFC.
We don't work hard enough off the ball both in defence and attack. We were so easy to play against yesterday in midfield. They just matched up to us and we couldn't pass through them for large periods. Absolutely no excuse for a lack of effort.

I was injuring my foot booting the chair in front of me when my mum did vaguely cheer me: for us to make 4th, and it to be good enough, we're reliant on ManShitty and Bayern Munich - well it's better than relying on that bunch of wnakersbye Pat
home it's not bye Robin
I actually didn't think about that! This so so true. City and Bayern are far more reliable to help us out than we are ourselves.

Apologies........I do try, honest I do but my anger seems to be rising not subsiding To be truthful I wasnt that angry leaving the ground cos there was an air of inevitability about the result (even before they scored the 1st goal) but after getting home last night the anger is just taking over - I suppose when you are rushing to catch trains, then planes and then driving home you just dont get time to think about the game and it all comes to the surface when you get home and start thinking
I couldn't sleep last night I was so angry (the Mrs was away, I was going home to bail out a babysitter so couldn't even get smashed)
I do hope some of these players realise the impact they have on peoples lives...
Was gonna say I don't see any point of putting Gibbs or Diaby in our 25 - why rely on permacrocks
but I guess on that basis we should sell RVP...
Well played Villa - Spuds have the same cojone deficit we suffer from

rather than not relying on gibbs cos he's a permacrock - let's not rely on him cos he can't defend. People need to watch the player play, and forget that he's a youth product.
Another thing....i hear that he's in there to offer us something going forward? ermm......what? miscontrolling the ball in the box? Getting his feet confused? Or shooting from 10 yards out and not even making it for a throw on in the opposite corner?
Poor team selection, bad deployment, and the usual contempt for any team below them ensured our failure to make Saturday work .
Why Ramsey was even in the team is beyond me ,Gibbs likewise .
If Santos was fit he could have played left midfield or back.
Only bucked up after the Ox came on but had no clue why Yossi left the pitch as at least he was trying !
More water bottle abuse by the stubborn one ,when will he ever learn ????
48 hours on and still so angry and disappointed. I'm with Dan...always stay to end but was out of there as soon as whistle went. Hypocrisy of watching lap of appreciation would have been too much. First half arrogance and complacency too much to bear. then all the meaningless flicks and show boaty crap - win the game and worry about that shite in training if you must.
I don't know if Gibbs is quite as bad as some have made out
in some ways its worse than that - he kind of reminds me of Wes Brown
in most defensive and athletic technical aspects a decent player but he just seems to attract calamity:
things bounce off him to exactly where you don't want them, he slips at the worst possible time
better to be lucky than good - you can improve most elements of technique.
I fear that poor boy is cursed.

You go to some lengths JD...all that free nosh at Chelsea is melting your brain
PS: if your even partly responsible for AVB's exit, and we lose out on CL football due to Chelsea winning in Munich, then you are partly responsible for that.

I see Wenger was his usual gracious self at fulltime. He is a fucking disgrace to the club, a constant source of embarrassment. He most be the most unpopular manager in the league, the pundits on sunday supplement where basically laughing at him, he has become a figure of ridicule.
Sid,spot on. I am increasingly pissed off by his petulance and bratty behaviour. Nothing to do with being a ''bad loser'' just rank bad manners and turdy behaviour!

Yep, the handshake he offered Lambert at the end was disgraceful. Your team play like your Manager. He has no tactics, no discipline and throws his toys out of the pram when things do not go his way. However great he has played this season. RVP's behaviour at the end of the Wigan game was a mirror image of Wenger.
This season is all down to you Monsieur Wenger. You reap what you sow and you have nobody else to blame but yourself
