As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
It would be just like Wenger to spunk a paltry 4 million on Vela and declare we're now covered for both the striker and winger positions as Vela can play both...
It's only a "paltry 4m" for US. Every other club would have to pay around £25-30m for his services. That's his true value (clause notwithstanding) in the current market.

Ah stop.......last summer the cannibal was worth £40m and you are saying that vela is worth £25-£30m ??
I liked vela and had real hopes that he was gonna be a star for us but in time I had to accept that he was too light and unable to hack the physical nature of english football, and I suggest that you accept that too. I dont agree with, but can understand, the club/manager/fans wanting to stick to signing players they know but that only works if they were a success first time around and vela most certainly wasnt - fans wanting to cling to past glories is all well and good but clinging to past failures is ridiculous
Wonga never wanted Ozil but was told to buy him as ST sales and more importantly, corporate sales, were looking very dodgy. This is why Wonga hasn't signed his contract, it's his 'protest' at interference from the board. He hates being told what to do and he's put the frighteners on Kranky to say 'don't let them interfere again'.
You will not see another huge signing because Arsole Wonga does not sign superstars, he makes them! You don't need to work in football for 30 years to know his ego knows no bounds!!
Erm......how do you know all this?
The voices in his head told him. What they didn't mention was that season tickets had already all been sold and that the corporate bookings were fully committed before this signing! Or maybe it was his time machine
27 pages in this thread already. Have I hit a cult website?!
Should be one page: Watch This Space (nothing will happen, but if it does, you'll be the first to know).
Only other comment: Sanogoals should go out on loan.

better we keep Rosicky than Arteta, or sanogo or Kalstrom or monreal
Rosicky has good pace, good vision and 99% of the time when he plays the team have better movement going forward and a higher level of pace (2nd gear at least!)

Absolutely agree 110% and I argued that at the time - I like rosicky as a player (and have done since he played us at highbury for Sparta prague) and I will say that he brings much needed tempo to our game, BUT, there is absolutely no point in keeping him, ozil and cazorla. Wenker has never understood the concept of building a balanced squad as opposed to buying good individual players and that is why we will continue to see periods where we have too many midfielders and not enough defenders or strikers or, as was the case a few years ago, NO decent keeper
