Like most on here, I never really expected citeeh to face any proper sanctions for their bending of the rules, but THE ONE RULE I felt 100% confident on was the sponsorship with associated companies, and that has now been blown out of the water
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footb ... awful.html
To me deeming that rule as unlawful basically is the death knoll for FFP - how can the league have financial fair play rules if clubs are allowed bring in totally overly inflated and unrealistic sponsorship deals from one of their other companies ? I dont know if it is the english courts is the problem or what it is, but it seems uefa's rules can keep a tighter reign on the oil cheats so maybe a european super league is the way to go ?
One thing is for sure, if citeeh and the geordies and able to bring in sponsorship deals at double or treble market value, competition in the premier league will be over for all time

Competition in the premier league has already been over for some time - City have won 6 of the last 7 titles and that won’t end any time soon..augie wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 2:08 pmLike most on here, I never really expected citeeh to face any proper sanctions for their bending of the rules, but THE ONE RULE I felt 100% confident on was the sponsorship with associated companies, and that has now been blown out of the water

From BBC:
What a load of Bollocks....
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... 5eyvl7nggo
Man City v Premier League legal case verdict - what it all means
Okay so this isn't the 115/118 Charges case... But the one where Cheaty have taken Legal Action against the prem and its Rules on ATP...
Besides all the Waffle and Piffle from what I can tell having read through this utter bollocks ... Cheaty's legal representatives are going to fuck the Prem up the Arris without any lube...
The verdict has been announced in Manchester City's legal case against the Premier League over the league's rules on commercial deals involving clubs' owners.
City, who are owned by the Abu Dhabi-backed City Football Group, had some complaints upheld, with two aspects of the associated party transaction (APT) rules deemed unlawful by a tribunal.
But the Premier League says the tribunal rejected the majority of Manchester City's challenges and "endorsed the overall objectives, framework and decision-making of the APT system".
APTs are aimed at the value of sponsorship deals with companies linked to clubs' owners.
This case is not directly related to the Premier League disciplinary commission which will hear 115 charges against City for allegedly breaching its financial regulations, some of which date back to 2009.
The tribunal - in a 175-page document - ruled that shareholder loans should not be excluded from the scope of APT rules and that some amendments made in February by the Premier League should not be retained.
Worth noting:
In this arbitration process, Chelsea, Newcastle and Everton all acted as witnesses for City.
whereas:
Witnesses for the Premier League included Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Brighton and West Ham.
Brentford, Bournemouth, Fulham and Wolves wrote letters in support of the rules.
There's load more of the bollocks just go to the link.

Everton, Chelsea and Newcastle have all backed city - how fucking grim is that?
It’s like Philip Schofield, Gary Glitter and Rolf Harris joining forces to give a character reference to Jimmy Saville.

The chavs and geordies have good reason to back citeeh tbf cos this will open the door for them to also bring in massive funds through crooked sponsorship deals with other companies owned by same people

I'm not claiming to be lawyer or barrister or anything, but my understanding is that clubs can form a private league with their own rules even if those rules do not comply with courts or eu law as long as all clubs within the league sign up to accept those rules - if I am right, then the rest of the clubs can vote to remove any club refusing to accept their rules and move on without them, and that is what has to happen (but wont) if the premier league is to survive long term. People over this side of the world mock american football and american sport in general, but tbf they understand the need for parity and competitiveness in their sports for their leagues to thrive - the salary cap (totally unworkable in soccer I know) is a brilliant system and more or less ensures that they will rarely have a predictable league dominated like city do here, or like old firm do in scotland, or like bayern do in germany (pre fat tongue

The premier league will probably tuck their tail between their legs now and retreat, but if they do then the league will die a slow death over coming years and I will stake my life on that. The needs or wishes of a few should not be allowed over-rule the majority here, but of course that is what will happen rather than the majority sticking together and telling citeeh and the chavs that if they dont like the rules then they can fcuk off somewhere else - what other league will want them and their views on fair play and FFP ? To me this sponsorship ruling is bigger than the 115 charges and ominus for what lies ahead now

But on a serious note, I agree it could well pave the way for those clubs whose owners have bottomless pockets to simply buy or out-bid all or any of the other clubs and so by buying the best players and paying them on stupid wages... No one will be able to (realistically) compete... A bit like the current situation with Cheaty.

It shouldn't be allowed that another Countries Government can OWN a club or even have shares in them.... There isn't just the imbalance in the financial stakes, but with the levels of corruption already going on, how long before a Foreign Government use their investment & Financial Power to bring those things to bear in terms of Job etc in the UK.
The game ate itself a while ago, but now it has just been Taken Over by Money... which in turn buys the pGMOL, The Media and any other thing within the sport.... It's just a matter of time before a player Throws a Game for a couple of Million...

It definitely opens the door for money to flow in from businesses connected to the owners of these clubs as a means of artificially pumping up revenues and spending power.
Expect the Saudi's and sheikhs to now value their sleeve sponsorship at a billion quid a season and incredibly find a company (that coincidentally they also own

Man City accuse Premier League of 'misleading' clubs - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/arti ... 3vj62p4gzo
This lot are out of fucking control and acting like a mafia operation. What the fucking hell do they think they are doing? Are they trying to organise a coup against the Premiet League? Are they trying to pretend to the other 18 clubs, plus their vile, head-chopping barcode mates, that the Premier League can't be trusted and whenever this verdict comes, it's wrong? Or, are they just so fucking deluded that they think they can do whatever they want? They should be charged with brining the game into disrupte to add to the other 115 charges of cheating and being cûnts.

Time to for the teams that gave evidence against those lot leave the Premier League and let the Cheats, Everton, Chavs and Newcastle play each other 17 times a season if they love each other so much.
A new league with the top 5 from the Championship getting promoted.
One big caveat of membership - no state owned clubs

Maybe, just maybe Cheaty will annoy the PL enough so that they throw the book at them for every one of the 115 charges that they are found guilty of.Perryashburtongroves wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 11:59 amMan City accuse Premier League of 'misleading' clubs - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/arti ... 3vj62p4gzo

Not entirely sure what Cheaty's strategy is here, but it's definitely inflammatory.
