Is this genuine sammy ? I know fcuk all about the lad but if he is good as everybody seems to think he is then I would be very happy with this signing indeed. I always believed that gotze's reluctance to leave dortmund would be the sword that this deal fell upon but if he is now willing to talk to our club then maybe we have a chance of signing him after all
If he does want to speak to us I wonder whether the probable arrival of mertesacker has played any part in his decision - the lad is only 19 and having a fellow german international within our set up could only help him settle surely

Things are looking very different from last year. United was rock bottom - we're back lads!
I would be amazed if wenger was behind these potential deals - for starters there doesnt seem to be the same fannying around looking to save 5 quid before finalising the deal but also I cannot see these players as wenger signings

I'd fucking love us to sign the goat, would be the real injection of creativity we need rather than having to rely on Roshitsky. Please make it happen Arsenal.
I don't think Wenger handles the negotiations does he? Maybe the board have finally learnt their lesson and are now acting fast - they know they're gonna have an empty stadium by the end of Sept if they fuck this up!
Perhaps United was rock bottom and we'll thank them for waking the board up. A long way to go but a lot of the crap has been shipped and we're addressing problems. I feel better than I did last week - but that's not hard is it!
Bite their hands off and add the fee to the Cahill deal. Sorted!
pay the fuckers to take him off our hands, makes me long for the days of cygan and and that other gobshite stepanovs ( spelling ) when i see that c**t line out for us
I'll drive him there tonight - useless lump of shite!!
Gus Caeser still gets slaughtered for his performance at Wembley in 1988 but Djourou makes Gus Caeser look like Franz Beckenbauer. I've never seen a top division player look as bad as Djourou was on Sunday.
The fact he wants to talk to us is key.
Whether he signs remains to be seen.
Agree 100% with what you say but how reliable is the story about him wanting to talk to us ? Cant afford top get my hopes up too high at the mo and after wenger's decision not to fcuk off on monday morning I need something to lift my spirits
On Lansbury: Personally I would loan him out to an EPL team that's going to be in a real fight all season - Blackburn, QPR, those type of teams. I don't think he should be sold just yet.
On Mertesacker: Great defender who has stuck with Werder through thick and thin. Deserves a shot at Champs League play. Seems to have a loyal, winning personality, and I do not believe a German player will stand for tomfoolery in the back four.
I could not think of a better word than tomfoolery =\
