Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

the signings are promising however will not be satisfied unless cahill, or another cb are signed, a DM, and a marquee attacking midfielder.

onlt then will we be back to square one re the loss of cesc and nas, plus addresing the age old issues of the side. (a fox in the box is too much on top of the above im afarid)

Agree.

Just cannot get excited about Young, Santos and Mertesacker.

Functional but not marquee names.

At last count arsenal have enquiries or bids lodged for at least four midfielders in hope one comes off before deadline #panic

Via Matt law- the express. Seems a well informed guy imo.

Would gotze be a marquis name ? I mean by all accounts he is one of the most promising young players in world football right now but he couldnt be considered marquis yet could he ? :?
If the answer to that question is no then I doubt very much you will get your marquis signing - what marquis signings would be available for starters ? The 3 madrid players (kaka, benzema or higuain) might be available but can you honestly see us paying the fee and wages required for these deals ? All the other players that we have been linked with and are gettable (cahill, samba, jags, baines, arteta and hazard even) cannot in my opinion be classed as marquis signings

DO NOT SEARCH GOATSE ON GOOGLE. I FUCKING MEAN IT.

if you're curious about what it is, search on wikipedia, or leave google's filter on moderate at least.

For me we have so far neglected the most crucial signing of all - a creative, goal-scoring midifielder. If we don't get anyone in, we are fucked. To lose Nasri and Cesc, and to rely on Wilshere, Rosicky, Arshavin etc. Dodgy!

Not top quality for sure but I would compare him to freddie in that he is quite good at making runs from midfield and scoring goals 8)

and yeah for us i wold consider both marquee signings. we are never going to sig a kaka, ronaldo type, and these guys along with benzema are the highest we can hope for.
