SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He is "super quality", but yesterday he said Sanogo was "top quality", so presumably their wasn't room for both :D

We've also added Sanogo (chances of him contributing this season???) to the wage bill and as of yet haven't offloaded Bendtner or Chamakh, who were loaned out last season.

Glad to see so much shit leaving the club but don't for a minute expect our wage bill to decrease. Although Arsene has acknowledged some mistakes he'll still stand by his philosophy.
You know what, I'm fucked off with almost all things Arsenal these days but for some reason Ramsey is like a shining beacon of something to hold onto.

I don't know why, he isn't amazing, he won't win the game for you but he is 90 minutes of fucking everything he's got. Full pelt.

What a shit state of affairs where that is about all you've got left to cling to. Especially after the real hope (Wilshere) has been ignorantly destroyed.

exactly!

He implied that sonogo's non existent fee does not equate to his quality, but what about chamakh?

We had to rush to buy the ill equipped andre santos because he was gambled on having a threadbare squad relying on Gibbs' fitness, which predictably failed.

We go into another season with a very light squad, lacking in quality, with more excuses on having another young team, what happened to other young team that failed to win anything, and everybody ran away to win trophies elsewhere?

afcforever wrote:"I would like to see them go as far as they can to get Suarez, but they can't just buy him and not replenish the rest of the team. I think they need a goalkeeper, two centre-halves, two full-backs - for both left-back and right-back positions - another midfielder and two strikers.

For Wrighty to say this, he dont have a clue what hes going on about. :blah:
Really? :? So you think that the likes of Fabianski, Jenkinson, Gibbs and Monreal are good enough to help us win the title or CL, do you? (And before you say Jenkinson isn't first choice, he will be if Sagna is either injured or forced to play in central defence, which he is first cover for!!). Given his propensity to charge up the field recklessly with no thoughts about his proper job, god forbid if we have to rely on Jenkinson at right back all season. As for Left-back, neither Monreal nor Gibbs - although improving - have showed enough knowledge of good defensive positioning and decision making to convince me they can make the back four stronger.

And that neatly leads me onto my next question: do you think that all four of our listed centre-backs are up to the level required? :rubchin: Seriously?  Perhaps you also think Arteta is the perfect Defensive Midfielder rather than someone - although doing a better job than Song did - is reluctantly filling in due to our shortage and hasn't got the mentality or the physicality of a real DM? Or would you prefer Jack Wilshere waste his talent effectively having to supplement whoever is playing that position because of their shortfalls, rather than creating havoc further forward?

I guess you are very happy with our existing forward line if you don't think we need at least one if not two addtional strikers to help score the goals that will see us challenge? Or do you think Giroud, Poldoski and Theo are a formidable enough forward line and will bag enough goals between them to see us home? Maybe you have seen enough in Akpom's brief appearances to convince you he's the next striking sensation that will lead us to glory? :rubchin:

Now if you said Yes to any of the above questions then I suggest it's you and not Wrighty that hasn't got a clue what he's going on about!!

We have spent the summer getting rid of the mistakes that OGL has made his mistakes his calls this is the man that said if you give me £100m to spend I would give it back a chairman's wet dream.

The manager has stated we have a quality squad that can challenge for the championship.....on that one we have to be relegated first.

No doubt we will probably sign at least two more players of what level who knows the squad is paper thin.
Great to know we will be at the same turnover as Bayern Munich in the next year or so 300m+.Know which team acts like it.

Ivan Gazidis was the man that spoke about 'exciting transfer news' this time last year we signed Giroud & let RVP go when you don't use the resources available you leave yourself open to all the questions this club is getting.

Was trying to formulate some sort of joke about Roma's kit colours and his absolutely woeful performance against Bradford but instead I'm just going to settle for:

MAY I NEVER SET EYES ON YOUR HIDEOUS FOREHEAD AGAIN
