Bendtner; The Leg-end

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

RIP this thread :barscarf:

Now that would be a loss. Not just to Sunderland, not just to the Premier League (which needs its stars to be playing in order to sell its TV rights- in fact with the 3pm pub showing ruling going against Sky, Bendtner is more important to the league than ever), but in a way, it would be a loss to every decent man, woman and child walking this earth, it would be the death of hope and might even signal the evil reign of Chamakh being able to take hold unopposed  .

And it would be the death of this thread

But the night is darkest before the dawn and the demise of this thread would give birth to "The Nicklas Bendtner Injury Recovery Thread"- follow every agonising step as Nicklas attempts to recover from the cruel hand of fate and take his place back amongst the elite :barscarf:

safcftm, given your own chilling insight into the career one of our favourite wayward sons and Sunderland FC's new role as rehabilitator of a little bit shit strikers (TM),perhaps you could start a "Marouane Chamakh regress thread"?

Many of us are extremely worried about him.

EDIT : Thanks

Ha'way lads, to the chorus of you're beautiful by James Blunt (yes, we're scraping the barrel now):

"He's Nick Bendtner, he's Nick Bendtner
He's Nick Bendtner, he's mint,
He gets the ball, and he beats them all,
And I don't know what you should do,
Cos he'll fucking destroy you too"

Get your money on bendtner first scorer and Sunderland win. "he's big, he's bad, he beats up his own fans, nicky b, nicky b"

Bruce thinks bendtner might be a bit too mint to sign permanently. He's probably right, the lads a top 4 player and deserves cl football, but not many clubs can afford £20m so I'd like to see us fire in a bid

Just to show I'm not biased, the lad gets a 3 out of 10 today, poor. Didn't get involved, average touch, shite performance, hardly looked interested

Understandable after his physical exertions mid-week!! :box: :box: You'll soon learn that our Nick hardly ever manages to put two good performances in a row together.

Despite the poor performance I'd still happily see us spend 20m on him. "oh, we're halfway there, oh oh, bendtner in the air" (yes, we know you did it for aliadiere first!)

I tipped Sunderland to beat Fulham today

Your place used to be like a fortress with Quinn"y and Phillips up front... watched 20 minutes of your game today and realised I'd tipped wrong! :?

What you need to do is sign vela to play alongside the greatest striker in the world - then you'll have a Quinn/Phillips double act to jizz over :-P

We're shite at home now mate- no creativity at all in central midfield, bit of a poor side tbh. Think it's 3 home wins in 2011, might be 4 but either way, disgraceful. No wonder we can't keep a player as good as bendtner

Bendtner will have one assist and two shots off target in their next game...

and all will be rosy in safcftm's garden :barscarf:
