Spuds game

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We beat them, nothing and I mean nothing else matters.
However seeing ade getting sent off and the margin does add to the enjoyment ,even their mini revival to 4-2 makes me laugh (after the event) as does their sense of injustice .
Doesn't get better, bit like my hangove this morning.

I don't know about you lot, but am still feeling warm and glowy this morning. Even if glowy is not a proper word. :D

I guess that those of you who feel sick and suffer before a NLD and cannot funtion properly, then the morning after a result like yesterday's, is even sweeter.
Enjoy the day, you weren't dreaming. :barscarf:

Fcuk me that was good fun. The only game in the calendar that sniffs at the howling cauldrons of the football games I grew up going to. Just watched the telly version and it doesn't/can't/will never translate the atmos of an NLD.
I floated to the airport after the game, breezed through security (for a change) whilst high-fiving travelling Gooners going back home to Ireland or wherever and my actual flight out was a magic carpet ride of sheer satisfaction. I thought of RioGooner and how fantastic his trip turned out (report please?) and all the normally indignant, appalled, despairing Arsenal nation able to give themselves just this weekend off.
As Herd says we beat them and that's all that matters. Today.
The sun is shining this Burgundy morning, the air smells sweet and the birds are singing.

MK Gould wrote:Not sure whether it is because it was so good last season so can't be repeated, but just can't get up for the game tomorrow.... I'll be there so guess the excitement will build, but at the moment I'd be very tempted if the wife asked me to go shopping with her  !

My apathy though isn't because I think we'll lose. To be honest I don't think Spurs are up to much either. Can see this being a high scoring draw.....so get your money on 0-0!
Ok, so I was wrong on so many counts....!

It was repeated, albeit they didn't go 0-2 up, and it was another fantastic NLD. I was certainly up for it by kick off and my throat is still sore today!

Just watched MOTD though and it is a disgrace. They didn't in any ways capture the often criticised atmosphere, or the Giroud header that was arrowing into the top corner, or the Ox step overs.... If anyone has had to rely on that to get to see the game then get yourself on arsenal.com to watch the full or extended highlights!

And talking of atmosphere....I thought it was one of the best since moving to the Grove. And it highlights that the lack of atmosphere at games has little to do with the design of the ground itself..... It's just difficult sometimes to get 60,000 people up for a particular game. But when they are, as they were yesterday, then the soulless space bowl rocks :barscarf: :barscarf: !!

Unfortunately, I think it will be back to the soulless space bowl on Wednesday night..... :banghead: !

What a game! I was right above the lot at the clock end and had the time of my life, even though our 1st 20` were shit. After watching live, i`m even more impressed with cazorla, what a player! Giroud mobility also seem much better live.

Had an absolute blast with HighburyJD who took me for pre and post match drinks.

Atmosphere was good, lots of singing and so on, shame you just can`t stand up for 90% of the match :barscarf: :barscarf:

Still feels great doesn't it ?

Don't want to spend time analysing it because we all know there are still ample faults in the side especially at the back, but we put those fucking wankers back in their place for another few months

And was I right or was I right about Sandro? I hear people bigging this guy up and all I see is a poor man's Darren Fletcher, going around constantly kicking people and interrupting the play. How many fucking fouls did it take before Webb got the card out - they should have been down to 9 men.

Sounded like a decent atmos for the most part, although strangely subdued at 4-2 up (more so than when we were actually losing 0-1). Hope everyone enjoyed it and gave those fuckers plenty of stick

Nice to see bitter old melted cheese face saying on MoTD "I still think Spurs will finish above Arsenal" - ha ha. He's even more of a self harmer than Wenger :D
