As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Hi mate. I deleted your thread "Spend spend spend" as you have posted the same link here. No need for a second thread regarding the board or Kroenke. Cheers.
Ok its your board. I was just trying to give the story as much publicity as possible. If you feel that the owner buying the biggest ranch in the USA while spending an astonishingly small amount of money in the last two transfer windows isn't worthy of its own thread its your call.
To be honest I don't think it is worthy of it's own thread. It's been well covered in this thread. Also, what Kroenke spends is totally irrelevant to what players Arsenal sign because it is Wenger that makes that decision and it is Wenger's ego and (now) chronically twisted sense of right and wrong that has prevented him from spending the money that is (and always has been) there on new, better players.
BTW, it's not my Board. But I do help mod it for free and so we mods allow ourselves a few indulgences to make the job a bit easier. One of them is not allowing multiple threads on the same subject as we all have jobs out here in the real world (obviously except for Stoner Hlebby ) and so we don't have unlimited time to mod repeated stuff.
Fuck you very much.
You don't have time to mod repeated stuff. How many 500M ranches has Kronke bought before? Enjoy your ounce of power.
What does it matter how many he buys? Are you not that bright? The subject has been covered on this thread.
Enjoy my "ounce of power"? Pretty standard response from someone that is a bit upset that their precious thread was deleted or merged. FFS grow up, mate. It's not the end of the world.
SteveO 35 wrote:The arguments about Wenger and Kroenke will live on and to my mind both take a serious chunk of the blame as to where we are now. Kroenke has a proven track record in running under performing franchises and his latest stunt in the US, moving the NFL team hundreds of miles shows a complete disregard for any supporter. He absolutely would oversee an MK Dons franchise on a larger scale in this country if the opportunity presented itself. He also chooses who to appoint in senior executive positions, so I hold him entirely responsible for Gazidis and the blatant exploitation of the fans on a scale that no other PL team has seen. I don't remember too many other grounds where the likes of City, Bayern etc have all staged some sort of fans protest about ticket prices. As if that wasn't bad enough, we've seen no return on that investment in the squad and if Kroenke was pissed off with Wenger for not spending the resources then surely by now he would have fired him and found someone who would do it? The reality is that Kroenke is the worst form of owner - one with no affiliation for the club, here for a visit to ride the gravy train, would piss on the supporters at the drop of a hat, and happily oversee mediocre 'on field' achievements so long as the cash kept rolling in
None of the above excuses Wenger's brainfart signings, lack of tactical nous or inability to fill the gaping holes in the squad that everyone can see.
We'd only ever know if we saw Wenger operate under the likes of Usmanov and what an owner like that would demand in terms of achievement. Thankfully the custodians of truth and justice from RedAction saw him off - Sod off Jabba !
Whilst I agree with most of that, I'd question whether Jabba would be the answer. Mediocrity Stan's worst crime for me is that he doesn't give a fuck and doesn't hold Wenger accountable once the CL money comes in and he gets his own "consultancy" fee. Would Jabba be that different? Would he demand any more from Wenger than Mediocrity Stan does? What's Jabba's affiliation with the club? He's a manc fan after all. Might he too not be happy enough to see the CL money come rolling in and take a "consultancy" fee?
We deffo need a new owner that will demand footballing success from the manager and TBH at this stage I'd probably give Jabba a go because Mediocrity Stan is a useless fucker to our club and almost anything would be an improvement - short of the Glazers!

What about a new manager that doesnt view 4th place as success and who raises our expectations instead of lowering them and who gives the whole place a bit of a shake up.......?
Apart from the scanalous ticket prices etc, would we really care if we had stan or usmanov if we had a competitive manager?

Oh I agree totally. For me the priority is to replace Wenger. Mediocrity Stan has to go too, but the priority is a savvy competitive pragmatic manager. My view is that Mediocrity Stan wouldn't care if (as a nice add-on to the CL money) a new manager won the actual CL or PL. It wouldn't upset him, he just doesn't care once the money is ok. Wenger and Mediocrity Stan are poison that feed off each other's ineptitude and laziness. Hopefully a new manager would be self motivated in a way that Wenger hasn't been in a long time.
The problem isnt Kroenke its Wenger and Gazidis .
We make money but he hasnt taken a dividend ,he took 3 million out last year , Peanuts .
When Gazidis first arrived he tried flexing his muscles and Wenger out manouvered him and reports only to Stan .
Now he has no authority over Wenger in the footballing departments.
Wenger hired Dick Law who reports not to Gazidis but to Wenger !
It is wenger who sets the wages the fees and everything else , he overpays everyone so people dont turn him over and he is too mean to get a competent squiad together |!

If its peanuts, why do it? Peanuts to his estimated fortune but still about 10|% of the free cash flow that AFC generates. The point you've made about Wenger outmuscling Gazidis only serves to highlight what a c.unt Kroenke really is. Kroenke is the only person who can allow or prevent Wenger acting that way, and he allows it.....so 100% culpable for whatever that brings
Stevo For Kroenke he looks at us as a long term property and media sporting franchise. It works for him. If he wanted to he could strip as bare . he feels things r ticking over well so he doesnt mess.

Why on earth wouldn't Kronke "allow" wenger to "act that way"? Everything is ticking along nicely. "Customers" still attending, buying merchandise, property value up. Why rock the boat?
Kronke is 100% culpable of wanting a profitable investment, and thats what hes in it for, but Wenger?
Wenger is lying to us, cheating us and treating us like c unts while taking not 3mil but 8 fukin mil every season.
Wengers "project" had started before Kronke. Kronke doesnt profess to "love" the club.
You can trust a thief but you cant trust a liar.

I'd not be particularly bothered about our majority shareholder taking £3M out the club annually if we were successful, in fact you'd probably find most people would see it that way.
I do object to our Manager earning £8M and not producing the goods though
