Barca bumholing Wednesday 1945

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Being 100% honest this was the first Arsenal game for as many years as I can remember where I didn't find out the result until well after the final whistle. Was at a work dinner / piss up having a brilliant evening so didn't want it ruined. Eventually some bright spark told me the score and my initial reaction was "oh, better than I thought then" which sums up how this team, under this owner and manager make me feel. Relieved I couldn't get ribbed after a 6-0 drubbing basically. I didn't even know who scored our goal until today and have no interest in watching any of the 'highlights' or reading any of the post match reports and analysis

My old man and my eldest boy tell me we didn't play too badly and my favourite line was "we had as many shots as them". If that didn't tell you all you needed to know about the gulf in class nothing ever will. The old man has also taken great heart from the performance and hopes it will give us a good pick-me-up going into the Everton game. Remember, how we reeled off all those games in a row back in 1998. Yeah I do - I also recall Bergkamp, Vieira, Petit, Seaman, Adams, Overmars, an unplayable young Nicolas Anelka. If anyone thinks Giroud, Ramsey, Flamini, Ospina, Mertesacker, and Walcott are about to write themselves into Arsenal folklore then I know the names of some very good medical professionals who would be willing to help

I refuse to let it all make me miserable any more - the United away game and last Sunday killed off any flickering hope of any of this team showing they could grow a pair when the pressure's on. Win tomorrow and I admit it will make me happier than losing, but lose and it will mean nothing anyway as the title went 2 weeks ago.

Glad we pissed the League Cup up the wall months ago, and of course we could never lower ourselves to compete with two bob shit in the Europa like Dortmund could we.

Next season will bring no difference whatsoever - except if you're a Liverpool or City fan when you'll be 100x times better

Said elsewhere on this thread but worth repeating, how sad is it that a 5-1 aggregate defeat, even to Barcelona , is being viewed as a moral victory ? . Spoke to an Arsenal fan who said at 1-1 Barcelona were rattled and if they hadn't scored when they did (second goal ) there is no doubt Arsenal would have gone on to win.
It reminded me of a cat and mouse situation where the cat wasn't overly bothered.
