As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I feel a mite hestitant commenting on this rumour but that hasn't stopped me before, so here goes.
Assuming this rumour's got legs, why the hell would Barca want him, especially a such an exorbitant fee? They already have converted Mascherano to centre-half and also have Shakira's boyfriend so would he play there? Can't see it.
If they want him for the midfield then I know the peerless Xavi's getting on but he would have Fabregas, Iniesta, Busquets (spit) and, to a lesser extent, Pedro to displace. Even then there is Thiago Alcantara and no doubt some others too.
At best he'd be a utility back-up player but I can't get my head around paying so much for such a player when they only just found the cash for Fabregas (and I know we were rinsed on that deal).
Mind you, they're welcome to him as it would allow us to bring in a quality replacement or, more likely, bank the cash.
Funniest rumour of the last few years - Song....for over £20m?
No-one will pay more than 12m or so for Song. Barca wouldn't pay more than £10m for Song. The media are desperate for stories because no-one is moving and it's the same every single year......if there are no transfer stories, bring up an Arsenal player to Barcelona story.
It would be Wenger's greatest ever transfer if he did manage to swindle £20m out of some mug for Song!!

the same barcelona who spent 25 million on chyrfuckinggrynsky wouldn't pay more than 20 for song? you're out of your mind.
i dislike him too, but it's easy to see him departing on a big big money move. if he wasn't worth a good sum of money it would be hereford hitting our doors, and not barcelona with all their players claiming they want song there.
Song is a class player, I wouldn't think he was worth £20m like but then we've got Wolves asking £15m for Fletcher and Liverpool paying £15m for Joe Allen so you never know, Song is better than either of them so I suppose its just market rate. Mind I think (as much as you can compare the two) Diaby is easily the better footballer out of him and Song, the problem is just keeping him fit!
