THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The deluded old fool is going nowhere. From today's presser via twitter
Wenger: "We have rebuilt the team and since January we have done very well. Our stability can help us start next season well."
Wenger: "Stability is needed at clubs. I am sorry for every manager who loses his job."

Why does recognising our good run of form (results at least) inspire heading banging?

because our good run of form normally leads him to believe everthing is ok which gives him enough reason not to buy at least 2 world class players

Was watching a season review DVD of the 99-00 season the other day and we had Bergkamp, Henry, Kanu and Suker as our options upfront (!) with the likes of Overmars and Ljungberg regularly chipping in as well. Now we have Giroud, Podolski and Forehead to choose from.

Cheers Wenker.

No but he'll thieve 7.5 million a year from us so to stockpile his 29 million quid personal fortune! What a complete tool he is!!!

respect your contract ahead of our club and fans eh?

pathetic, 7.5 mil a year for apathetically "managing" us to mediocrity and he calls it respectful

I hate Wenger more than I have ever hated anyone in football.

And even if someone lists out a load of other c**ts that are supposed to be worse ... I guarantee that there will not be one name on that list who has done anything to spoil my joy at supporting Arsenal like Wenger has.

That's why Wenger is the worst of them all. This loathsome culture he has created, aligned with the vile regime he has attracted, are all responsible for ruining how I feel towards the club. All responsible for taking away the joy of Arsenal scoring goals and winning games. As I said, no one else in football has done that so who can compare?

What we achieved in the past under Wenger doesn't all just disappear the moment we start to hate him. Its still there, set in stone. And besides, Wenger was not solely responsible for that success anyway. He just played his part along with many others who are long gone. Some of whom are also hated (Ashley Cole for example).

So thanks for the memories Arsene blah blah blah ... but please FUCK OFF!

Listening to his comments on the radio he sounded rather subdued and downbeat.
I firmly believe if Spurs hold on to 4th spot Wenger will depart.
He cannot argue he has done a 'good job' if he fails to get into the top 4 with £120m in reserve. That is bang to rights.

I don't believe the vagaries of form affect our recruitment decisions
(does anyone?) Wengers a stubborn man, his biggest strength and weakness

Surprised me we still haven't bought a striker, maybe he's getting harder to predict

Yes. I'm not talking about a three game run or whatever, but using last season as a prime example to me it seems like the embarrassments and failures from August until February were completely ignored when it came to the transfer window because we'd put together a good enough run of form to scrape CL football. And this is the vindication required to intensify his stubbornness, he seems completely unwilling to discuss failures that are evident for the majority of the season if we end up scraping CL football.
