Barcelona vs Arsenal thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Their best three attacking players weren't out (Xavi and Messi played), we on the other end, had all three out (Arshavin, RVP,Fabregas). Not to mention the injuries to Song, Gallas and Sol.

Can you really compare their absences to ours?

We can't hide behind the money spent excuse forever. I'll admit I would use it while in debate with Manc and Liverpool fans but after the board telling us there is money available it apears there was and it was decided not to. Dont forget we pay very big wages too - times that is forgotten.

The reason I bring up the Bayern defeat is that someone at that Club said it wasn't acceptable that a team like theirs be beaten in such a manner. And while we were without a lot of players - we DID know about RvP for quite some time.

I just hope the right noises are made now from the Manager to get the players focused on our remaining games.

We are again brought back to basics like the lack of a brain in diaby and walcott (even one between them would be good) and you hope and pray that nights like tonight will show these facts to wenger so something positive might come out of it but deep down we know that aint going to happen and this summer will mirror last summer and the summer before that.........no point in blaming the players too much on a night like this :cry:

And we are repeatedly told that we have made "fantastic progress" since then and that this team is "developing"

With the exception of Vermaelen for Fat Arse, Nasri for Hleb (or Reyes)....I'm not sure I'd swap any of them for what we have now.

Some people on here need to get a fucking clue. Quite frankly we got beaten by an astonishing player in a very good team, and we still could have gone through with most of our team out. We played well, we just lacked that little spark. Overall we've shown a lot of steel this year, and the season still has something to play for 5 games left.

Ha I know, tbh I do have my gripes I just get a bit rattled when I see people slag us off seemingly out of blind rage, when really the way we played and the team we lost to, there really was no shame.
