For the first time since 1986 Spurs are now level with us. Signing of Van Der Vaart is the sort of master stroke that Wenger pulled out of the bag with David Dein.
Now its just does not happen anymore and he only cost £8 Mill.
Lets ne honest Van Persie is sadly never going to last a season. I dont blame Cesc for wanting to leave, so instead of the future looking bright we will struggle to hold onto 4th.
Chelsea are very much above us now and it feels like a long way we fell to me.

Depends how you interpret. Maybe we can use the Don Howe experience as proof that sometimes things have to get worse before they get better. The night is darkest just before the day my friend

And that's the whole point Flash. When you're there watching a game like that you think that we're on top and running the show and deserve at least a draw, just because of the level of possession but without a player of the calibre of Cesc to create, that's what it was always gonna be, just possession.
Olgit says he's proud of the team and yep we didn't go there and get outclassed or humiliated but when are we gonna start scoring against the top teams like we do against the Blackpools? Whenever we went down the middle, their midfield just suffocated us and as others have said we don't have the genuine width to get round the back like we should have.
Something has to change because like it or not there is a top 6 now and we could end up 2nd or 6th :worried:

From going into matches a few years ago full of belief and confidence in the team it is almost the complete opposite, I now expect them to concede in the last minute to drop points (sunderland , spuds, liverpool) to be so complacent that its ok to be below par against "little teams" then we get turned over (hull, wba, wigan)

It has been going on for too long for it to suddenly self correct, either the players are not good enough, not motivated enough or are mentally not tough enough to be able to fix it themselves and Arsene's blind insistance that they are a percent away, going to win it this season bla bla bla just doesn't ring true.
What he said. Its so depressing.

I'm not happy, but at the end of the day we didn't have the confidence to shoot and I can't blame wenger for that, although I can blame him for fielding a team of bottlers :x

It really was a master class in dicking around on the edge of the box.

No matter how much money they have, and how many trophies they win, Chelsea FC will always be a classless bunch of tossers – witness the PA announcer on the pitch at half time, announcing the Liverpool / Blackpool result in a hilarious / disrespectful* (delete as appropriate) way. Fuck off, you no History bunch of *word censored*. It would never happen at The Arsenal.

Who the feck was that alledged Chelski legend they paraded about at halftime?

"He was here, he was here when you were shit" - my personal favourite chant of the day!

But that's exactly what Wenger would have you believe. These young babies of his can go to Chelsea, dominate possession, not concede a hatful and so with a bit more luck we could have got a result. But in the cold light of day Chelsea just did what all the top teams do, let us have the ball because they knew they could strangle us when it counted and then hit us on the counter.

Chelsea didn't give up on the league when they lost to City last week. IF we beat them at home then the results cancel each other out so far too early in the season to write us off.....

We need to get at least a draw at City - and watching them against Newcastle suggested that we should be looking to win! And we need to win our home games against Utd and Spurs.

The thing that pisses me off though is still the number of our key players who are still missing with what appear to be minor injuries. I can more readily accept the like of Aaron Ramsey who is out with a broken leg but:
Manuel Almunia (Elbow)
Nicklas Bendtner (Groin)
Thomas Vermaelen (Achilles)
Cesc Fabregas (Hamstring)
Theo Walcott (Ankle)
Robin van Persie (Ankle)

Shouldn't someone just be spraying on some deep heat and telling them to get the fuck on with it and earned their substantial pay packets..... Six first teamers out has become the norm for us over the last few seasons and the fact that NO OTHER CLUB has this recurrent problem suggests that something must be wrong at Arsenal.

I said at the time when RVP was offered a new £80k a week contract it was a big mistake because he will never ever play enough games to win us a title. So we have an injury prone striker at the club. When Bender gets injured that reduces the striker choices to one.Dont even go there about that tosser Vela,So we have one striker who will be run into the ground by christmas.Ask yourself this question what other top club would give RVP with his history a 4 year contract? But hey Arsene Knows
