Chamakh's wages are crazy, but as he signed on a free transfer and we didn't pay a transfer fee, I suppose it's inevtiable that you'll pay a premium on wages instead. :( terrible signing though.

There's no excuse with Almunia and Denilson though. We've known they're not good enough for years now, yet Wenger rewarded them with golden contracts that basically locked them to the club until their contracts expire... fortunately Almunia's has, but Denilson will have to be loaned out for a year or 2 more before he fucks off on a free

As for Theo - I like him as a Wiltord type squad player, but I don't think he'll even be a regular once Chamberlain and Podolski get going, so I'd get rid now before we do something silly like offer him a £100k a week contract :?
Wenger's golden contracts for dross and shit.... the gift for them that keeps on giving and also continues to bite us on the arse :banghead: :banghead:

Walcott's departure + no direct replacement

Post by highburyJD »

http://www.arsenalnewsreview.co.uk/inde ... ay-as-well
I was asking somebody why they were so sure Theo was off earlier, the rumour he is gains ground
MylesPalmer reckons they pulled Walcott merchandise yesterday,
this surprises me, more because Feo has a such a high-profile in key UK demographics than his irreplaceability
combined with letting Miyaichi and Afobe go out on season long loans, the apparent availability of Arshavin and the fact Gervinho has never really taken off it feels like the only way we can let Theo go is with another signing
Both Jack and Cazorla could play wide - and the Song replacement (Sahin, M'Vila?) must be in the post
Wenger has stated he favours Ox in the middle and solely played him there in pre-season

My guess, if we let Theo go, is we get Sahin AND M'Vila (or some other big lump - would love deJong if he really is on £70k pw) and we see Wilshere playing a lot further forward this season
makes sense of his #10 shirt too...

Maybe he's getting rid because he wants players who can play in a 442, his comments yeserday sounded like he's finally admited 3 up top don't work.

Cazorla Sahin Arteta Replacement sounds realistic with the 2 up front.

A change is also realistic now Song has gone.

then we have to sign a direct Feo replacement,
we should have gone 2 up front at some point yesterday IMO but I think Wenger will persist with 4-3-3

IF Theo leaves we have plenty of options to replace him, but I would not be averse to bringing in the slower but skillfull Adam Johnson.

If a long term deal for a player looks unlikely, then we could could do a lot worse than bringing back Benayoun.

Left sided options: Podolski, Gervinho, Santos, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rosicky, Cazorla, Arshavin, (Lansbury), (Miyaichi).

Right sided options: Gervinho, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rosicky, Cazorla, Arshavin, (Miyaichi), (Bendtner).

Sahin looks to be coming in, just say he did stick with the same system, he could play Sahin and Arteta holding with 3 from Podolski, Wilshere, Ox, Gervinho and Cazorla infront, when you look at it like that Theo don't need to be replaced and probably won't.

Would love to believe that CIC is gonna change the formation but I would practically lay me life down that won't happen  If Wally fcuks off (please god) and we don't change formation then Dempsey and affelay should be the only players we should consider bringing in to replace him although I ain't sure a replacement is needed.

Anyway that is for another day and right now we just need to focus on getting rid of walnut 8)

Please, please, please let it be true that he is going. The departure of him and Song would be like winning the double.

Now that we've rid ourselves of all the proven losers, surely we must discard this brainless fool as well?

I want him to stay, think the abuse he gets on here is absurd. Acknowledge his faults, his inconsistencies, but think he brings something positive to the table that others do not.

Get rid of Feo, Arshavin and Barry Bender and bring in M'Vila, Sahin and Adam Johnson. I would be a fairly happy bunny then.

We have enough arrogant c**ts that have acheived fcuk all without bringing adam johnson into the club :x Anyway we have podolski for left wing so if anything we need a right footed winger
