Munich at home

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Arsenal

Humdrum possession, shapeless and un-organised defence.
A lone striker who had very little service.

Bayern

Powerful, clinical passing and shooting.

Remember early in the season he'd bark some instructions from the touchline, now he sits there never speaking.

Rice and Wenger used to speak all the time!

Bould only there in writing.
Must be happy to collect the dollar... anyone with any principle would walk out, it's doing nothing for his reputation.
Bould may well go this summer, after the season ends he can have a bit of time to think, away from the treadmill of games.
He may move to a different position in Arsenal, or leave altogether.
But his loyalty to the club prevents him walking out mid-season and causing an uproar.

Donaldo

Bould is anything but a "Yes Man" by nature, and if he is being sidelined by Wenger it will be greatly frustrating him.

Missing out on the 4th place trophy will be the breaker.

I hope we do miss out. Not only might it bring about some change (here's hoping) but the away trips in the EL will be beltin' good! That's providing we finish in the EL places of course

Where have we seen a total collapse in all competitions before??? 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012.
Watching the TV studio half time and end of match comments you could just feel that all four of them knew the writing is on the wall for Wenger. Jack's interview was extremely low, especially when asked about the manager. Even in the match highlight programme there was an extremely negative vibe for Wenger. The atmosphere was similar to when you find out that your grandparent has a terminal illness. The end is inevitable it's just a matter of when, not if.

Agree 100%. Whatever anyone thinks should or should not happen to, the board , the manager, the players; that leaving early in droves is just something ridiculous imo. I sit there getting mad at fellow apparent fans, it just fucking riles me! Have never understood it and never will.
Steve, to be honest five years ago i would have been one of those people looking daggers at them, but how many times can you pay through the nose to be disappointed - its not like we're paying 15 quid to watch Brentford toil in hope.

plus we have the second largest stadium in the Country, the highest ticket prices, the second highest paid manager in Europe and the fourth highest wage bill in England.

it's not just about one result - its cumulative. norwich, swansea, schalke, bradford, blackburn, bayern, birmingham, milan, the 8-2.

we've beaten just one team in the top 6, we've won just 12 out of 26 games in the EPL - that's 45%.

and we're paying top dollar for the privilige.
Totally agree, with this CE, supporting this gutless shower of pansies to the hilt doesn't help them one iota, they need to be boo'ed, jeered and have shit and rancid fruit thrown at them... that'll make them player better!

Sorry but that's absolutely fucking ridiculous in my eyes. Really.

I, as have all I assume, experienced a massive atmosphere and seen what it can do to the team, how it can boost them. I've seen players (in most teams) try to get fans cheering when they are up against it. We were given a class in organisation and teamwork by Munich this evening but still, in the second half we improved dramatically. The atmosphere rose the players seemed to give that little bit more. When the goal (3rd) went in the whole place went flat and folk started from then! walking out. THAT is when the crowd need to be lifting the team even moreso; the deflation is exacerbated and highlighted by folk walking out.

Crowds can make a difference and in the last few minutes when an extra goal might be the difference that's needed is when they can often spur on a team that extra mile. Exactly the same with Blackburn at the weekend, folk walking out with minutes left to go...

I will, as I said already, never understand it. The cost is irrelevant to me in this regard. Of course I would prefer not to pay as much as I do, but I will pay it and I will attend every game I can and cheer on my team whatever the situation... I will leave my whinges whines and moans to the trip home, the pub, work next day, the internet etc etc but when I'm in the ground I will continue to cheer as I have always done, up to and beyond the whistle. I will also certainly never boo the team at half time either.... what a bloody disgrace that was..

Unfortunately, we will make it 4th again. We are out of all competitions. There is enough rest for his best players to concentrate on EPL. Jack will be fresh for all EPL games. Fit Jack is his main strength in EPL. He got Santi, Poldi and Stricot. Sicky is getting ready for NLD. Think about Spuds without Bale and victims without Saurez. Other than top 3, there is nothing much for him to worry in EPL.

So, out of all the cups in Feb. In the race for 4th place cup. Everything going according to the plan.

Fucking hate early leavers. Either don't fucking go or at least stay and support the team. :banghead: Personally I find booing embarrassing but have no problem with fellow fans expressing their discontent in this manner - I prefer to swear a bit.

The difference in class last night was incredible. How Wenger could sacrifice the one winable trophy in aid of our annual CL knock out stage humiliation is fucking beyond me.

The Good; Wilshere is so far above anyone else on that team. Santi has the ability but he doesn't have Wilshere's power, passion, hunger and fight. Sagna was better than he's been for months. Rosicky looked lively when he came on and should have started instead of Ramsey who still offers us nothing.

The Bad; MerteSLACKER. Just proves height means fucking nothing in football. The guy is 9'6" or fucking whatever and he is useless in the air, cowardly on the ground and has the turning circle of an oil tanker with a broken propeller. His cowardly girly attempt to block their first goal was something you'd kick a 10 year old's arse for. His "stand and watch the guy run past me" defending for their second was appalling - but also AGAIN demonstrates that Zonal Chaos DOES NOT FUCKING WORK!!! :x

Chesney. Fuck me, he didn't actually have that much to do and he still fucked it up. His mishandling for their second was strictly schoolboy. And he still does his party trick of starting to come for the ball and getting nowhere near it on corners. The guy can stop shots but more or less cannot do any of the other things keepers at the top level have to do. All potential but needs a top keeper to learn from.

The ugly; Ribéry. Obviously.

The defeat was on the cards and I'm not as pissed off as I was on Saturday. it seems to me that these games against big clubs are lost before they start. There is quality in our squad but our manager is not getting the best from the players on a consistent basis (with the honourable exception of Jack) That's because all the excuses regularly trotted out by Wenger offer a hiding place for under achieving players. What would a manager with a winning mentality achieve with the current Arsenal squad.? What would a club that genuinely craved trophies achieve with the current Arsenal squad ? A lot more than our current manager I reckon.

I predicted defeat in both legs and so was not surprised by last nights score line or performance.

More fool me I went and the amount of Bayern fans speaking German and wearing colours in the home section of the clock end lower was obvious. Many of them celebrated the goals too.

Perhaps this is the norm in the Bundesliga but this game sold out to silvers so this really pissed me off. The club comes down hard on regular home supporters who stand or show any sign of misbehaving so seems bizarre that the stewards took absolutely no action to prevent them entering the home seats or celebrate their team scoring.

The end is finally around the corner. We have only gone downhill since 2006 and this current team is shite. We have no defence and play a lonely striker who stands no chance.
Wenger had also destroyed his reputation which is the saddest part of all.
