Interesting...
Sky Sports understands that Arsenal have moved into pole position for Argentine international Lucas Biglia.

The 25-year-old Anderlecht player has long been on Arsene Wenger's radar, even from when he first moved to Brussels back in 2006.

Biglia has progressed well in recent seasons and now a number of Europe's top clubs are chasing his signature.

Real Madrid and Inter Milan are amongst the clubs who are keen on Biglia, along with a number of Premier League sides.

But now with Alex Song's future far from certain with Barcelona looking to snap him up, Sky Sports understands Arsenal have returned to the Biglia option.

Biglia is settled in Belgium, but he has never ruled out his desire to link-up with a club like Arsenal.

It is believed that Arsenal's interest in Nuri Sahin would be unaffected by their move for Biglia or another holding midfielder.

Whos Lucas Biglia?

Victor Wanyama is decent but he isnt the most technical player from what Ive seen of him so I cant see ODL looking to bring him in.

Capoue, i dont know anything about but heard good things about M'Vila (despite a dodgy temperament)

We need a better DM and if we can replace Song with one of these it'd be a good swap in my opinion.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Sahin wants to join AFC. Has given them til Monday to make a deal or he'll join LFC. We're 2nd choice

No Idea, how reliable are these guys.

Remember exactly the same thing. Weird.

Don't believe we'd be desperate to sell for a million quid. Must be significant add on's to bite surely

just cant see sahin happening. with all this gloom now. cant see it will make much difference. we know we will fanny around and miss out and he will go to the victims. dont even know if hes that good.

even if signed, we are still an injury away from chamakh or bendnter leading the line. ffs have we not learned anything.

For the last two summers I have advocated that it is as important that we offload players as it is that we bring in some quality players so from that regard I have no problem with offloading bartley cos IMO he ain't good enough (though time will tell if I have judged him harshly ). In fact selling rvp,Bartley, vela and song plus possibly selling bendtner, arshavin and shitatchi would be a good thing for the club if the money was used correctly. There is nobody more cynical than I am but I feel that all these comments about how we are close to being in transfer profit again suggests an opposition to selling these guys on principle and that is not the way we should be viewing things imo cos we should be looking at the buying and selling as two separate issues even if those running the club do not.

Re the sahin rumor on twatter where he is alleged to have put a Monday deadline on any move to us, can I just say that, if true, it makes total sense and bears out what I have suggested yesterday......players are not and should not be willing to wait indefinitely for our club to pull out their fingers and get a deal done. Mancini stated last week that by rights players should not be brought into a squad after the season starts and players too would want to be in the club asap to allow them to work up some chemistry with their team-mates before being thrown into battle so if we rate sahin then go and get the fcuking deal done and give the players at least a fighting chance of starting the season well
