Hope he follows Dennis into becoming the next legendary Arsenal number 10.

Can't wait to have him back fit and playing for us again.

Victor Wanyama is decent but he isnt the most technical player from what Ive seen of him so I cant see ODL looking to bring him in.

Capoue, i dont know anything about but heard good things about M'Vila (despite a dodgy temperament)

We need a better DM and if we can replace Song with one of these it'd be a good swap in my opinion.
Song for M'Vila would improve us so much.

M'Vila is exactly what we need - A hard bastard in the De Jong mould but also very cultured on the ball.

I strongly think we need two players to replace Song. We have been defensively liable with irresponsible Song for a long time, a defensive minded player is needed so that Cazorla, Arteta, Ramsey, can play their game - which is offensive and creative in nature.

However it must be said that Song had a pretty good injury record. He plays a lot of games on the run and is usually pretty fit despite that. We might not be so lucky with a replacement for him, and I don't see any other natural defensive or central midfielders that can cover for him in the same way.

M'Vila, Sahin are options, but I'm sure there are other good buys out there too. I wouldn't mind getting a make-weight player from Barca in a potential Song deal, as their system (and La Masia) are built around 4-3-3.

augie wrote:For the last two summers I have advocated that it is as important that we offload players as it is that we bring in some quality players so from that regard I have no problem with offloading bartley cos IMO he ain't good enough (though time will tell if I have judged him harshly ). In fact selling rvp,Bartley, vela and song plus possibly selling bendtner, arshavin and shitatchi would be a good thing for the club if the money was used correctly. There is nobody more cynical than I am but I feel that all these comments about how we are close to being in transfer profit again suggests an opposition to selling these guys on principle and that is not the way we should be viewing things imo cos we should be looking at the buying and selling as two separate issues even if those running the club do not.

Re the sahin rumor on twatter where he is alleged to have put a Monday deadline on any move to us, can I just say that, if true, it makes total sense and bears out what I have suggested yesterday......players are not and should not be willing to wait indefinitely for our club to pull out their fingers and get a deal done. Mancini stated last week that by rights players should not be brought into a squad after the season starts and players too would want to be in the club asap to allow them to work up some chemistry with their team-mates before being thrown into battle so if we rate sahin then go and get the fcuking deal done and give the players at least a fighting chance of starting the season well
I would have thought the priority would be to offload the players who have at least had the chance to prove they're shit

Sahin to us looks on as Wenger prepares to offload Song.

Wonderful bit of business if this happens

From AW press conference
Wenger on Sahin: 'He is one of the players we are following'
Wenger on Song rumours and possible new signings: 'Both could happen... but my focus is on the Sunderland game'
Wenger on squad: 'If you look at the number of players we have a massive squad. We have what is needed to be ambitious
in other words Song is on his bike and we will take Sahin if we can get him on the cheap.
