The stadium itself is another fantastic legacy and the financial state of the club now has us set up for generations.

I think sometimes our fans are too blinkered by the 2000s and need to remember the 70s, 80s and 90s - although it is also quite apparent many current fans werent around for those periods - not their fault but certainly taints there views.
Personally, I'd keep Wenger until he wants to leave - you watch United fall back to earth now SAF is gone - mark my words.
Well there you have it folks. Lets all forget about the last 5/6 years of piss taking, charging sky high ticket pricing, tactical ineptitude and selling our best player and not replacing them.

May as well close this thread :barscarf:

If you only want 'Against' comments then the thread has the wrong title......
Fair enough, and I admire your optimism, but those are at best flakey arguments "For" Wenger.

16 years of CL football and only 1 final, 1 semi and a couple of QF's. And the only financially stable thing is going to be Stan the Syrups childrens inheritance after he's fleeced us for a couple more years :banghead:

But welcome anyway Swifty 8) And watch out for Augie, he'll enjoy reading your earlier post

And I will bet that if we employed a new manager 8 years ago and he delivered champs lge every year, but only had 1 genuine challenge for the league and disrespected domestic cups plus he sanctioned the sale of his best player to one of his rivals, then I would suggest that you would be leading the charge for his removal. I havent even mentioned the total tactical ineptitude he has shown plus the fact that all his better players have lost confidence in him, seen where he is bringing the club and have jumped ship as a result.
How much longer do you think that he should be allowed live off the first 8 years of his tenure ? If we continue down the same path for the next 6 years or so, will you then try and defend him on the basis of success he initially enjoyed and if not then at what point do you make a non emotitional decision and cut the man overseeing our demise as one of the top teams in the league ?

Anyone who disputes the argument that Wenger is living off past glories should read your first paragraph.

Agree 100% with augie here. Would also add in relation to the green bit; 2 words for our new member - Brian Clough. :|

Firstly welcome on board, mate.

Secondly, if I thought the red bit above was the limit of our ambitions after the first 8 years I'd have been saying alot more than "hmmmmm let me thing about it". :x

An absolute classic AKB rant has just popped up on my Facebook home page. I won't post it all because it's almost the length of someone's uni dissertation but I shall summarise in hilariously succinct bullet points;

- We were by far & away the best team in the PL last year, if not Europe ( :? )
- Only reason we didn't win the league was because of poor refereeing eg an offside goal at WHL
- We were the only team to beat Bayern at home all season (actually not true, they lost at home to Leverkusen. Also makes us sound like spurs)
- Next season, "like every season", we will compete on every front. (16pts off the top & dicked in the CL L16 yet again would suggest otherwise)
- Winning a trophy is more about luck than spending. (Partly true but buying some quality players sure would help)
- Arsenal have more points in top flight history than Utd ( This is my favourite)
- We've built & paid for a new stadium (Again, not true. And maybe you wouldn't be so chirpy if you actually went to games & the money from your pocket was paying for a stadium that you didn't ask for.)
- I'd rather have had consistent CL qualification than miss out & win trophies for the past 8 years ( :coffeespit: )
- Aside from CL & Top Four, all other cups are null & void ( )

I don't have the heart to tear it apart on facebook because he's a sound guy, but fucking hell..... Where's that dislike button?

Did he happen to address wenger as lord wenger and said arsenal cannot be told?

Damn you should have suggested that before I spent all my money on next season's ticket, duped as I was by the promise of something or other (can't remember what it was now).
