:banghead: Seriously Arsenal? A man advantage, and you LOSE the lead, then drop two abysmal points against a relegation contender. Right after United gives you a chance to close the gap on the table, and you beat Chelsea 3-1.

Also, a little annoyed by this "resting" our players. I realize that it's good once in a while, but if these guys can't play 2-3 games in a row I don't know what they're getting paid 50m pounds for. At the very least, put influential players like Walcott and Nasri in with 30-45 minutes to play; not just 10 minutes and say "oh we bottled it, go save our asses again".

Tbh I don't even feel that surprised though. As soon as the game kicked off it looked like it was going to be one of those days, and sure enough...

Lastly, Wigan fans are *word censored*, booing a teenager who got headbutted. But, I like Roberto Martinez (ex-Swans manager) and I wish him success... preferably not with Wigan though.

We put out a severely weakened side to increase our chances of picking up points against Birmingham, but end up dropping 2 points against Wigan. The more I think about it the more it makes no sense..... A change or two, yes. Cesc was suspended anyway. But eight changes? Bizarre!

Also - you mods are often very quick (a little too quick?) to close down threads. So why has no-one closed down any one of the number of Wigan related threads that have sprouted up last night/this morning.....?

-Other then making up the numbers im not sure what Rosicky is for?
-The squillaci/koscielny partnership should never see the light of day again, it doesnt work.
-One more screw up like that and chesney should get his chance.

Two disgraceful penalty decisions however it is a fact of football that if you make 8 changes from a winning side and dont win the next game then it is 100% the managers fault.

Our momentum was fun while it lasted.

No last night should be his last fuck up.He got away with the mistake v Chelsea because we won.He doesnt dominate his area he's like Dracula at crosses and was fortunate not to concede a penalty last night. Its time to give Szczesny a long run in the side in fact he shouldnt have been dropped after OT

I cant remember if it was the second goal or the corner before, but he did come quite a long way to try and claim it and missed.

however credit were its due, he made some important saves at times

Had he not chased the long cross and stayed in position he could have caught the ball in the middle of the box when it was headed back. Don't think Chelsea was his fault, he was indecisive but the ball in was just too good.

Time for Wenger to put faith in some good youngsters in Chesney and Djourou, not idiots like Denilson who was again getting overtaken by the referee. :banghead: :banghead:

Anyone else got a bad feeling? think I am still haunted about our visit there last season!!
I posted this before I saw the team, when I saw the team I was EVEN more worried

When we went 1-0 down I was not surprised
We turned it round but a 1 goal lead is never enough for us

Saddest and most frustrating this is, I was almost waiting for 2-2 so wasnt surprised and seeing the manner of the goal is just like Groundhog Day for about the 20th time in the last 3 seasons

We WILL not win the title this year

Well, the line up that Wenger put out has been done to death, he does himself no favours at all, and never learns from past experience in doing this.

The players who come in, Eboue, Diaby and Denilson, to name the usual 3 know that they're not good enough, and perform to that standard.

Wenger goes on about not signing certain players because ''he'll kill'' the players that are already there, but he's doing just that by his stupid team selections. We can get away with one or two of these shit players, but not a wholesale change.

That was a fucking disgrace, me as well as however many Gooners travel up to that place, witness that shit and only two players (Walcott and Nasri) come to thank us for driving 5 hours up there, the rest just trudging off the pitch to their nice, warm dressing room without a glance at us.

At a fucking loss for words on the performance. :banghead:

Well, I was out at a free footy piss up and only logged on now (and am hungover to fuck as well). Chippy nailed a good few of the repeats in fairness to him.

And seriously MK, aren't there more important things to be worrying about?

By the way, as far as I know, the 'little too quick' allegation has been labelled at Rebel - but I'm not sure it was anything to do with threads!!

Can't really add any more to what has already been said. 8 changes to a winning team is madness. Keep the momentum from the last game going and make maybe 1 or 2 changes, then withdraw the players you want to rest later on in the game. And certainly do not play your reserve right back at left back!

Monday's win against a woeful Chelsea side lacking form may well be papering over the cracks. Yes the team showed spirit and desire that night but why couldn't they show it before?

First chance i've had to get online since getting back from the game last night...

Terrible, same old predictable shit. Blind panic in the defence when we're holding a one goal lead. Wigan, a side 3rd from bottom, were stronger & hungrier than us plus they played more attractive, incisive football than us. It was evident after 15 minutes that it wasn't working for us, I woulda bought Jack, Theo & Nasri on there & then but of course for that stubborn numpty in charge only an injury to Diaby was reason enough to bring Jack on & still he waits till the 83'rd fucking minute to bring the other two on?! Just unbelievable.

Denilson absolute toss, diaby useless, Bendtner took his goal well but ineffectual for much of the rest of the game & his first touch still has all the subtletly of a baseball bat to the head. Squillaci is complete toss. Both our centre backs positional sense is non-existent but at least Kos is half decent with the ball at his feet.

The thing that made me laugh most was Wenger saying in his interview that in the 2nd half "Wigan defended much deeper" :? No they fucking didn't! We did! What game was he watching?! We let them stroke it around in front of us & the majority of the last 30 mins was played in our fucking half of the pitch! No chance of us winning the league. For every 3pts we take off Chelsea/City etc we're gonna throw away points to tinpot relegation fodder like this. I'm not holding out much hope for Saturday.

On the upside though... A group of *word censored* near me started up a chant of "One Arsene Wenger" only to be hastily & angrily shouted down by all around :barscarf: The tide is turning...
