Re: Spuds game
Classic, wife asked me what an Oohsanteeeola was
Why? I asked,
because our three year old spent most of Sunday singing it

How much of our players reaction stems back to the fans outrage at the behaviour of santos and the rest prior to and at half time of the game at old shatford ? Tbh I am a huge fan of sagna (best right back in the world for me) but I think that after the game he would have been all hugs for the greedy c**t regardless of the result but with the camera's watching pre game he took the sensible route.
Btw gallas (another c**t) is saying in today's papers that greedybayor was very sorry after the game - it wasnt that the mercenary lazy b*****d actually apologised to his team-mates but gallas could see it in his faceIf I let down my team-mates and cost them in a big local derby like that then the first thing I would do after the game would be apologise to the manager and players

Hope Gallas' divisive attitude wrecks the spirit in their camp further.

Never understood the down on Gallas, good player for us
wasn't his issue that he thought Greedybarndoor was a prick?

So you were happy with his sulking and crying on the pitch after we threw a lead away against birmingham? and as captain too, self centred prickhighburyJD wrote:Never understood the down on Gallas, good player for us

Re: Spuds game
True, but in fairness, he probably wanted to rip Clichy's head off just like the rest of us.DB10GOONER wrote:Exactly. Re: Spuds game
Happier than if he sparked Mike Dean...
strange to me a strop from Gallas + injury to Eduardo has become the narrative
there were two stand out things about our collapse that season:
a sustained run of terrible decisions against us starting then
Greedybarndoor's disallowed for offside goal v Boro sticks in my mind:
I SAW the referee see the Middlesbrough tackle, he knew it wasn't a pass
was obvious from minute one Webb would not let us get anything at OldTrafford
The other, if anything more surprising, thing is Wenger called it
Wenger basically said he thought the league was fixed.
Many on here dismiss accusations ManUre get everything
how the fek do they get even near Citeh last year? 'Outside influences'
That's the call Wenger makes in '08, either the press should dismiss it as sour grapes
The FA should charge him and he should be a laughing stock - how can the peerless Prem be fixed?
or the media should analyse those decisions, look at the moments that turned the season...
Neither happened. It's the only time I've really heard a manager suggest corruption.
(Remembered Moyes didn't want the now head of our refs doing the FA cup final v ManUre as he supports them)

Re: Spuds game
So JD you actually think the league is fixed?
Its laughable
are you telling me gallas as captain responded in the right manner after that birmingham game? Would Tony Adams have had a breakdown on the pitch? No he might have stangled Clichy in the dressing room but you dont make him and yourself look a chump in front of millions.
If its all so fixed and fixed against Arsenal how did we go 49 unbeaten? Surely some bent ref would have fucked our run up well before united away!!! Im amazed
Why do you even watch football if its all decided before a ball has been kicked?

Its laughable

Re: Spuds game
Not fixed, I think ManUre have got a disproportionate level of decisions for a long time
Mike ManYoo Riley being head of ref picking unlikely to help
I think its worse than fixed, Fergie would have to pay good money for it to be fixed
what I think happens is refs who give decisions against ManUre are punished for them
they won't get another OT game for ages, this is sufficient to influence them significantly
that season was different, that season the decisions against us and for ManUre were unbelievable
but strangest of all is the fact that Wenger basically accused the league of corruption
and nothing happened - no reaction from press or Prem

Re: Spuds game
Shifting blame (again) away from a poorly chosen captain. As i said laughable
Re: Spuds game
I didnt enjoy this as much as I would have done in the past but it offered some very welcome relief to whats been served up in most of our games recently.
I do think it was 90mins of escapism though where we were able to put our gripes aside for one game. In truth the problems were still very much on show throghout the game though. Spurs definitely started better but other than the sending off Im not convinced they would have been able to maintain that tempo all game so I think we would have come into it at some stage. Could well have lost it though with that moron getting a red card.
Despite the scoreline, which was fantastic, we are not really much better than them anymore which I find depresssing. That might help the intensity of the rivalry between the sides but Wenger is taking us backwards and I hope this is the last time he manages an Arsenal side in a NLD at home.
Time will tell if this has a galavnising effect but I think the bastards running out club have constructed their own glass ceiling which is restricting how far this Arsenal can go. Im not holding out much hope for the season being any different to the last 37 or whatever it is now ...

Re: Spuds game
I think suggesting a post match eppy cost us the league title is laughable
Gallas wasnt a great captain but that season IMO was decided by refs
also deflecting blame 'again'?
I make posts that aren't about Wenger and you ask why,
its borderline obsession. I think the league, several years ago, was insanely weighted against us by refs
that's been the case for years, only super teams have a hope of competing with average ManUre sides
its not really about Wenger, long time since we came 2nd...
