As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Never thought I'd see the day when the roles were reversed and the highlight of our season would be Spuds failing in a title we are nowhere near being involved in. Total farce but then again that's what we are about these days eh? Rooting for oil money Leicester and passively watching title races. Shameful, utterly shameful that this is the highlight of our season. We've basically become what they've been for years: small time, thinking we are one of the big boys when ultimately we are there to make up the numbers. Still, like they always say "we play the best football"
I think that's the quote that most makes me want to punch pundits or any other uninformed observer of our teams of the past few seasons. Only "he's earned the right to decide when he leaves" irks me even more !
Honest to god, with the exception of the first 45 minutes at Everton our play has been boring, paceless, slow slow slow sideways shite for weeks, and for most of the past few seasons we've had prolonged spells like it. Our goal difference doesn't lie - gone are the days when win, lose or draw you'd actually see a decent game of football. Now, its no longer unusual for us to play for over an hour without testing the keeper. Then you'll hear some other c.unt like Robbie Savage say "oh, you don't see that often" when the match stats get put up on screen.....err. yes you fucking do. At least a dozen times per season. The 4-5-1 is shite - when he was forced into chucking 2 forward in the last 20 at the shithole we looked more threatening than we had done in weeks, despite having 10 men
Ikechukwu1 wrote:I also don't get the logic behind them not being able to improve next season? They will have CL income next season on top of the record PL cash. Joe Lewis and his ENIC bandits know how to handle money. They're getting a new stadium. It doesn't mean they'll win it next year, but it just makes it sound slightly ridiculous if any of our fans claim they can't compete next year. I agree if Pochettino goes they start from zero again, definitely. But, if they have CL football, based in London, pay decent wages, and have a young team closer to winning a title than any of our teams of the last decade has...
If both teams approached eg Marco Reus tomorrow and made him an identical offer on wages, are we really really sure Reus would choose Arsenal? If you'd asked 3 years ago it'd be a no contest. Ask again now, in the context of Ozil's rumour see discontent towards Wenker, the context of our laughing stock status in the CL, and in the context of a manager no world class player will want to play for anymore (Sanchez seems happy too eh?).....
Reus could still choose us. But our main advantage was CL football and being in London. If Spuds or West Ham can soon offer the same, what competitive advantage do we retain?
West Ham are very quickly going to amass a small fortune with gate receipts of 60,000 and no new ground costs
They are going to leave Arsenal well behind i am afraid
Spurs won't hit the same heights next year. There is a reason why the top 4 is so established and why missing out on the CL for one season doesn't see them crashing into oblivion.
Spurs, Everton and Liverpool have all had the odd CL qualification and none of them have got near cementing top 4 challenge never mind kicking on to be regular title contenders.
The peripheral sides don't have big enough squads and they are not used to having so 6-8 competitive games chucked in the first 3 months of the season.
They will probably sell Kane to United or City for a princely sum and shrewdly reinvest that in 3 or 4 substandard players.

Err......they got a point mate. Apparently when we got a point there it was a disaster, but no doubt for the Harlem Globetrotters of the PL it's an amazing result?
2 points gained.......wheels already starting to fall off. Oh sorry I forgot, Arsenal draw there "Disaster"....Spuds draw there "Victorious Warriors one and all"
I honestly can't believe it. The fun I'll have bumping this thread in the Summer when they finish 4th behind City
Leicester will roll Southampton over tomorrow and the media manjuice will be sloshing over the Foxes to a whole new level.
It's actually nauseating, but still, it's them or Tottenham. As for us, could've done with them getting 0 points today. If we win at West Ham, I reckon 2nd is ours.
Interested to see if any of their new found fans on here have cashed out yet or whether they're holding their nerve until they've officially been crowned champions?
Armchair.....Eboue ? Care to share the betting slips ?
Poor result for them. Had to win it really with the fixtures they've got coming up next few weeks.
For all this "playing without pressure" and "great form", they have now dropped 4 points against 10-men no-hopers Arsenal and Liverpool when presented with two phenomenal opportunities to set down a marker and put pressure on Leicester playing later that weekend.
They are on for 2-3 more points than they were getting under Arry in a league where City, United and Chavs have been awful. The only title challengers I can ever remember being so lucky with injuries was Liverpool in 2014.
They are blowing this year and will be surpassed again by the above mentioned three next year as having to play 6 competitive CL games between September and early December takes it toll.

Steve, I've said all along, 2nd, 3rd or 4th for that lot is 'fine' by me. I just never want to see them any higher than that in my lifetime.

Just keep following Doctor SteveO's plan and you'll be fine mate. Hoping Man Ure beat Everton today, as they'll remain 1 point off top 4 when they travel to the Shitole next weekend, after we've already beaten West Ham. That will be a draw meaning we'll be 2 points behind with a game in hand, and we have a similar duck shoot lined up against Palace the following Saturday.....so we'll already be above them when they're skidmarked pants travel up to Stoke on the Monday night. We'll be at least 3 points above them when we beat West Brom at home, and all of a sudden the wankfest over these overrated c.unts will well and truly be over. And thank fuck for that

Steve, are you winding me up? Do you honestly think there's a hidden agenda here? That the fact my concerns about them winning the thing means that either I'm a closet Spud or that I've had a wager on them?
