It's rather like knocking one out yet, the tissues are beyond a three foot grasp.

I know fcuk all about sahin but the bits I have read offering differing opinions on what his role is - some say deep lying playmaker, some say box to box midfielder, some say that he is a Gilberto type of DM in that he sits in front of and screens the back 4 so which description if any is actually correct ?
From my own point of view we don't need another player that can do multiple jobs for the team......we need a guy that can play the DM position only but can do it at a high level cos anything less is just more of the same imo
Do you guys that have seen sahin play and do really rate him, believe that the clause to make it permanent should be the deal breaker ? In other words if moaninho says it is a 1 season loan only, should we walk away or should we still sign him on loan ? Personally I am not sure that I support the idea of incoming loans unless there is an option to buy at the end but I suppose many would differ with that opinion

Tottenham are not interested in signing Arsenal's 28-year-old striker Marouane Chamakh.

Don't know much about him myself either but he's certainly not a proper DM so wouldn't be too disappointed if we didn't get him. I don't like loans myself, and I'd want a purchase option. If he's shite we send him back, if he's quality we get the option of keeping him.
Surprised Wenger wants a purchase option anyway. Letting our best player go at the end of the season is hardly a new concept to him. And there'd be no profit to be made by sending him back after a loan spell here.

He is a bit like Edu.
I like one year loans if there is an option to buy; gives us a chance to have a look before shelling out a lot of money, and makes sure we sure we are in the driving seat if we choose to buy.

Do options to buy normally include a preset price?
I get the feeling Wenger it's looking for a permanent deal andwe may lose out on this guy.

Somebody posted on here a few weeks ago that he was "a left footed Xabi Alonso" From the odd games I've seen him play I'd say that description was pretty apt.
That said I think Sahin is slightly more dynamic in his distribution but obviously lacks the experience and positional sense (to a degree) compared to Alonso - of course that's all open to interpretation I guess.
I wouldn't call him a 'box to box' player
Hope that helps (if it doesn't - look on YouTube

So this morning I open the papers and do I expect to find ‘United in crisis’ after their first loss of the season after shelling out millions. Nope nada. Giroud was called all sorts in his first 15mins or so in English football, yet now that the inner child and shrek-boy cant muster up nothing and still no label as a waste of money. Well done to Everton – you deserved the win.

If you were to judge Sahin on some of his youtube vids you'd say he's a shredder!
Sign him and unleash him against the Orcs on Sunday!

Sahin is a very good player. Reckon this 'option to buy' nonsense is classic Wenger smoke and mirrors.
Wenger will dilly-dally, he knows what Real want but will pretend to gneuinely want to spend money onthe player (Wenger agruing about the option to spend cash? LOL)....before puttin in an offer of £57.80 pence for M'Vila at 11.57 pm on August 31. Heard it here first, Coquelin and Ping-Pong DENCH tp the rescue this season!!!
