This kind of behaviour, plus any defence of it, will prevent fathers or mothers from wanting to take their children to matches. My daughter is a long way from that, but I'd like to think that she'd never experience being spat at.
It may be the case that Everton have a history of poor behaviour, but you cannot condemn someone like Ian because of it, otherwise we are all guilty of every single misdemeanour ever perpetrated in the name of The Arsenal.

Like I said, no spitting is not right but when you go away with the club that causes shit wherever it goes you have little if any right to complain!

btw...im pretty sure that IF this spitting did happen,then im sure the stewards wouldve used their walkie-talkies to the stewards upstairs to sort out.
IF this spitting occured,then its not nice to say the least.
But im sceptical that it happened at all.

Ian mate, sorry you had such a poor experience yesterday. I wasn't stewarding in that section, but I heard there were some issues.
From what you've said, that's a really poor show from the stewards there, they certainly should have attempted to help you folks out.
I can only suggest that you write to the club to inform them of what happened. As well as (hopefully) getting some form of official apology, I would hope that the club would take it up with the supervisors in that section of the ground. That way the stewards there will come under more scrutiny and hopefully do a much better job if that ever happens again.

Not at all, but if you go in with that attitude in the first place, maybe it partially explains why you don't get the best treatment from stewards?
I'm pretty sure that if I went to your place of work, convinced before I'd met you, that you and all your colleagues are 'wankers', I wouldn't get the best level of service.

The other thing that is important is that the Stewarding at the stadium is not good at all. It has been bad since day one.
Instead of being welcomed to our new ground, it was as if new stewards were trying to boss us around from the first game.
Seems like if you sit in club level you can do what you want. We ordinary(!!) fans get told to sit down and yet they are allowed not only to stand but to spit aswell.
At the end of the day i dont condone spitting but at the end of the day it didnt seem like their fans beaved perfectly either

if any decent fans got spat on by ours then I would apologise as an Arsenal fan but i saw them goading the police etc etc afterwards and this wasnt families or scarfers but big looking guys with no colours
