Even Robert Fisk (!) says calling what happened in Gaza was in NO way a Holocaust.
1200 or so people died in Gaza, a third of whom were civilians.
Who died as a by product of a war being fought where they lived, a war between the Israeli army and the armed groups of Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Al-Aqsa Brigades.
Holocaust was something very different.
The intentional killing of millions of civilians.
I am not saying you deliberately used the word to compare what happened 1939-45 to what happened last month, but every word has to be scrutinised, because otherwise people use terms of discussion that are not correct, and in people's minds a perceived event has taken place out of all relation to what actually happened.

Ok, maybe holocaust is the wrong word, but how else do you describe the systematic killing of thousands - a large amount of whom are innocent - Genocide?
I read somewhere that about 6 Israeli soldiers had been killed, and the US were doing all they could to help. UN have been forced out of Gaza because they're not safe, due to the Israeli bombings.

I do not know in what context you say that the systematic killing of thousands has happened?
If you refer to the Palestinians, then there hasbeen no sytematic killing, aprt from the definite targeting of terrorists.
400 Civilians have died in the recent war, but only because they live n crowded areas, and were forced to stay in buildign by the Hamas who used them as human shields.
In the longer term, a few thousand Palestininians have died, but many were terrorists, armed men.
In the main, Israel imprisons the terrorists, as it has more to gain from swapping prisoners and interrogations than it does from killing.
The UN left Gaza of their own accord. It was dangerous for the three weeks of the war, but that has now stopped and the UN have returned, to find their food stolen by Hamas!
Systematic killing is going on in the world...noticeably in Darfur by Muslim militias against non Muslim Sudanese where there is systematic genocide..using death, rape and slavery.

Ive got my views about PC and the Palestine/Israeli conflict but cant be bothered to put them within this forum as i know id get hammered from whichever side disagreed with me
To be honest id rather read a Jade Goody joke than a polical bullshit "you said this i said that, quote, quote, quote" thread starting again

I'm not taking sides, I just hate the way the Western Media (particularly in the states) tries to justify Israels actions. And I know you say Israel != Judaism, but the only people sticking up for Israel are Jewish....
