As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

True, but the Victim City fans aren't near as violent as the Rangers mongs...
I suppose they're too busy "steaming" shops and the away turnstiles to reacquaint us with "Stanley".
Scousers and Glaswegians both seem to have a penchant for violent crime, particularly with knifes. I propose they should have their own tournament where they can mug, stab and batter each other to their hearts content. They could even invite those Roma scumbags and our sans-prepuce chums from up the road!

You may very well have just invented the next "Reality" TV show there!!

Because a handful of morons burnt a Union Jack you've "supported" even worse racist, sectarian mongs ever since? Glad ignorance didn't breed ignorance there then, huh?
Well as far as I'm concerned they're as bad as each another, Arsenal have always had a strong connection with Celtic and yet they choose our ground to burn the national flag in??? nice and it can't be fair to be deemed a handful of Celtic fans but a majority of Rangers fans, in Manchester there was well over 100,000 Rangers fans and it was only a few hundred at most were actually involved in the serious trouble!

There were well more than a few hundred involved in ManureLand, BB - more like over a thousand. I agree Celtic are no angels, but it is my personal experience that a larger number of Rangers fans are more violent than Celtic fans. Rangers are a bit like manure's away support in Europe - in trouble everywhere they go but it's never their fault...
Also Rangers have a serious racist undercurrent to their support and have links with the chavs, Combat 18 and BNP. Celtic are sectarian for sure but when you add racism into that, for me Rangers are far worse.
I think it would be a mistake to invite either club to the Grove for a tournament like that because policing it will be a nightmare.

"Stab a Chav - LIVE!"
Great idea! They could even have Donal MacIntyre presenting!

Jees DB I don't know if we should get into this while true they probably have no more of that unwelcome undercurrent than the England team following, as both sets of supporters tend to be fiercely loyal to Queen and country for the same reasons that Celtic supporters chose to burn the Union Jack, but it was well out of order to do it in our ground
They like to sing IRA songs and glamorise terrorist attrocities which again IMO is worse than bein a BNP sympathiser, and just 2 miles from me as I'm sure you must have saw on the TV recently a load of fuckin scumbags of which at least 50% of were wearin Celtic tops thought they come down into Belfast on St.Patrick's Day into the heart of the student community and start wreckin the place and burnin cars and the one I saw on fire was actually a Dublin reg and like I said DB this was a residential area and it was for no reason other than they'd been drinkin all day

All valid points BB. One thing I would say is that the vast majority of those mongs burning cars and wearing Celtic tops have probably never been to a game. You get alot of that type of celtic fan in Dublin.
Burning any flag in any ground is bad, but particularly ignorant to burn your host's flag in their own stadium. I make no excuses for them, and have said before Celtic have their share of total mong scumbag fans. I don't like either set of fans tbh. My point is just that in my personal experience Rangers tend to be worse and more prone to violence.
You are right, maybe we shouldn't get into this old one again. We should probably drop it here before we just go round in circles so if you want the last word that's cool - I won't be replying, but not out of any slight towards you, mate.

Im so sorry that me liking Rangers instead of celtic makes me ignorant just because you dont agree with it! Obviously unlike you i have had no bad experience with any Rangers fan so have no need to dislike them whereas watching Celtic burn the national flag at Highbury and causing trouble outside then later realising the whole IRA supporting thing by some supporters made my mind up at an impressionable age. That was enough to make Rangers "my scottish team"! Sorry if me not agreeing with you makes me an idiot or ignorant or both but i will get over it i promise!

I never wrote any of that. I couldn't give a flying fuck if you agree with me or not. My point was that you based your "support" on one incident. You deciding to "support" Rangers because of that single incident gives the impression that your aim was to in some way make a statement that you hate Celtic based on that one incident. So you pick their rivals (whom are even more violent and racist and ignorant) to "support".
You honestly don't think that sounds a bit ignorant?
I can't blame you for disliking Celtic, but to then "support" Rangers based on that dislike is ignorance and the type of ignorance that breeds sectarianism.
In my opinion, (and to stretch the point a little) it would be the equivelant of me supporting the BNP because a black guy once took a swing at me outside a pub. The BNP believe the opposite of what the black guy believes in - so I'll now support them, never mind that they are racist scum...
get over yourself mate ffs! I was a kid at the time and it made me like Rangers more than Celtic cos thats what kids do! Whenever i saw celtic all i saw was Irish flags with IRA on and when i saw Rangers i saw lots of Union Jacks in the crowd, its not rocket science i know but as i said i was a kid and it made sense to support Rangers cos of those reasons at the time. What are you basing your facts that rangers are more ignorant, violent and racist than celtic on anyway?

First of all I hardly think I'm the one that needs to get over themselves...
Secondly, I'm basing my opinions on my personal experience of both sets of fans over a number of years, added to the fact that nearly everywhere Rangers go they are in trouble (like the poor innocent mancs ) in larger numbers and more often than Celtic, as shown on various news and sports channels over the years. Hardly coincidence...
As a mod I don't want to be accused of giving my opinion and then not letting you retort, so I will give you the oportunity to have a final say and then I'm locking this thread down because we really are just going round in circles on this particular subject (again).
Well I will respond DB but not to be seen to have the last word as I respect you too much to start any of that nonsense, except to say I agree with your last comments, I just didn't want it turning into a Rangers bashing thread even tho I hate Scottish football, cos I know people from both sides who wear the necklaces and rings 'n stuff absolutely everywhere they also go over to the matches and let's face it we both know it's not for the quality on show
We have had these threads before and it's hard to be completely impartial because of the religious thing but it is however absolutely infuriating cos it's these two SCOTTISH clubs in particular and what they represent that's actually led to a complete ban on ANY football memorabilia of ANY sort in my work in BELFAST cos it's hard to argue that you are wearing a Rangers top for instance for anything other than an in yer face religious statement!
