Don't worry about the spelling Michael - those who disagree with your point are just trying to belittle them with their sarcasm, I am sure this forum is awash with genius minds (hardly!).

Whilst not as pessimistic I do agree in essence with your points - sadly.

I thought the last two summers were bad - this is worse, at least last year we bought Rosicky (who I think is in for a big season).

The Ljungberg deal made sense - he's 30 which mean 1 year extensions when his current deal expires, WHU offered 4 years on the same money or maybe more - this is why he went.

Henry's loss will make us weaker - no doubt - but when all is said and done who wants a man who doesn't want to play for you, however good he is?

I think we do have a big problem up front however - Eduardo is an unknown, great pedigree but how will he cut it in the Premiership?
Adebayor - second striker, 15-20 goals would be a fantastic return - missing for the African Cup of Nations for a month or so.
Van Persie - could be the best, wait and see.
Bentender - not exactly prolific with Birmingham last year, especially after Christmas.

Also we are short of wide players - Rosicky and Hleb like to cut inside, Walcott has huge potential but he still seems to struggle to beat a man, Eboue - not sure I like the idea and he will also be missing for the Cup of Nations for a month.

We need some signings - we will have injuries, we will have suspensions and we will have absences due to international matches.

The squad was small last season, it's even smaller now - Arsene needs to bring some players in and quick.

I don't believe we will win the league, but I don't believe the teams who finished below us are any better than we are.

Yet more transition, but I still rate Arsene as the best in the business.

Sometimes when I am on these forums I get so angry and other times I just laugh and thankfully this morning is the latter.
Cockerill's Chins quote of "If blind optimism could be converted to points you've won us the league already" I found particularly accurate & amusing and should at least be nominated for a booker award. Why some fans refuse to see the problems in the club at the moment is beyond me and only adds to what is already a very frustrating off season. It's time to face facts lads and admit that over the last few seasons we have lost too many "winners" and failed to replace them with players of a similar ilk. It is no fluke that we finished 4th over the last 2 seasons and while people will point to the injurys last season it doesn't explain the season before. On top of that even those of you with blind faith will surely admit that, after getting caught out last season due to a lack in squad size, the one thing you do not do is reduce the squad even smaller for this season.

In my humble opinion talk is cheap and talking is all this board do - we have plenty of transfer funds available, the club is in great position finacially, club morale is high and of course who can forget the comment from phw(fool) last month when he told the world that he had no idea if Arsene would stay with us or not. Yesterday we had fizman commiting his future to the club for the "foreseeable future" and that comment is supposed to reassure us all even though we know it means he is staying until his tax exile status comes through ?

The thing that really gets me about this whole takeover thing is that the board have totally ruled it out of order while admitting that they do not know what kroenke is planning. Surely if they do have the best interests of the club at heart they should at least hear kroenke's plan and then if they deem them to be unsuitable reject them and tell the world why. This whole things smacks of xenaphobia and is a way of getting at DD which is not serving the club in my book. All the while our great club is being left behind by the other big clubs and are under threat from other not so big clubs(thats you spurts)

Cockrills Chin - What a laugh - Fantastic posts.

Whilst I don´t agree with all your comments - a good dose of humour is what was needed in this thread. Ohh and some realism.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN.

A great bit of business by Arsene. Like us all I love Freddie for what he's done for the club. But what has he contirbuted over the past 2 seasons?? Is it 2 goals or 3 goals?? He's lost his pace and is half the player he was. It was painful at times watching him last season as his decline was obvious.

This season he would have been bench boy at best, and an expensive bench boy at £70k a week. I have no doubt that the club were desperate to offload Freddie and I don't think for one moment it weakens us next season as he would have been nowhere near my starting X1.

Yes Freddie says Arsene wanted him to stay but Arsene allows all departing players their bit of dignity on leaving.

The press will always dress it up as players deserting a sinking ship, players bailing out etc. What is actually happening is Arsene is shaping the exact squad he wants. Baptista, Aliadiere, Freddie all gone. Reyes on his way. All for the good of the side in my opinion. Henry didn't want to stay so again good business to let him go. Todays reports say Senderos is next to "Jump Ship". £3 million for Phil? Yes please!!

Progress is about releasing the right players at the right time as well as acquiring new ones.

Michael, as I said before, my editing of your initial post was not intended to be a piss take. Rather, it was done for the benefit of other visitors to the forum. Even the best of us find spelling a pain in the arse some times, so don't worry about it. You're as welcome here as any other Gooner, so please make yourself at home.

Still, if the spelling on your posts is concerning you, you could try writing it in Word first and doing a spell check on it. A quick copy and paste, and wahey, you have a post that could rival one of my own!

Just joshing, old boy. Still, as regards your first post - I agree with the sentiment. It does seem like one step is being taken forward, and then two are being taken back. Still, I think knee jerk reactions like "why doesn't he just go" are a bit over the top. We might be on the verge of another great team, or we may be on the verge of real dire straits. No one can say for sure. But what I can say for sure is that, no matter what our current situation is, it will be made much worse without Le Boss at the helm.

Therefore, you may not agree totally with the way things are being done at the moment, but unfortunately, that's just the way it is. As for your predictions, we're not going to get relegated, and I'd say the chances of us getting knocked out of the three cup competitions you talk about are high, seeing as only one team doesn't get knocked out...

Basically, you opinions are as valid as anyone else's on here, so you should not stop voicing them. Still, I don't think Le Boss deserves us all turning our backs on him just yet. One way or another, we are going to have him as our boss this season, so things are going to be done his way. Get behind him and have a little trust in him. I'm not saying he'll deliver us the league title, but things might not turn out as bad as you think. Remember, Arsenal are at their most dangerous when they're written off.
