Personally I am beginning to question if nasri has done enough to be considered as an automatic
Maybe I am pissed off with his move into the middle when I believe that he should be on the wing cos that is why we bought him and of course it was only his 1st season in england but I still cant shake the feeling that he is not going to be as good as promised

Midfield with Cesc and Nasri with a new holding player behind them and we're looking very strong.
It's a shame RvP doesn't have more pace as he'd be better suited to that role then.
I just worry that he hasn't quite got the game to deal with centre backs when isolated in attack. It's great in home games against mediocre teams when we have the ball all the time, but in away games I do wonder whether he's suited to playing as a central striker.
Torres, Eto'o, Drogba, Henry, etc. suit the role well... I'm not sure Van Persie has the strength or pace to do it to the same standard, so - for me - playing RvP in that role would be more about trying to fit him in the team, rather than the role being perfect for him.. and that's my concern.
I actually think RVP would be better off as a midfielder - he doesn't have the speed or build for a lone striker and as others have said, likes to have a few touches. In my view he is suited to an attacking midfield role, but not the 'withdrawn striker' role. He has good vision (not in Bergy's class obviously), a decent touch and is combative...bordering on a bit nasty at times
It's a shame that we have 15 attacking central midfielders in our first team squad!!
Arshavin ought to play off the main striker, he is TOTALLY wasted on the wing and will soon get pissed off at the club if Wenger continues playing him there. The problem is, Eduardo is our best striker but is not someone who would do well on his own up front I don't think, I can't even consider playing Greedybayor up front so I'd have to say unless we sign another good striker then I'd probably play Bendtner up front with AA just off him.
Wenger has always liked 'utility' players, but what we have now is half a dozen central midfielders and he has to keep playing at least one, if not two....as wingers. Surely the answer is to actually bring in genuine wide players? Nasri probably passes for a wide player, I'm not convinced with Theo wide and as for Diaby or Denilson playing wide....we might just as well play Fabianski there!!
Too many low quality players playing in the wrong positions.

I agree with Had here..... Give him what he wants RVP is a top class player one of the few we have in a squad at the momenthadareud wrote:how the hell is he "holding the club to ransom"?
he has 2 years left on his contract and the club wants him to extend, it's as simple as that. It's not a question of him wanting to move, he'd be here next year new contract or not.
When you offer a player a new contract you will have to pay current market value, or at least close to it. Do you think he'd earn less money at any of the other top 4 clubs or in Italy or Spain? Why would he accept a contract that would mean he'd earn much less than if he moved to another club? Everyone is getting on the back of Wenger to sign experienced players, what do you think they will earn? Less than RVP?
I think that the money footballers earn is out of proportion too. But if you want to compete at the top level you either accept it or you don't compete at the top level. Simples.

Well we will agree to disagree, technically rvp is the better player by far, he can pass and has a good vision of the game imo (11 league asissts as already said, most in the league) holland have built their international team around him as stated by van basten himself (surely he knows a good player?).Gunner4Life72 wrote:Well, i hate to say this about my Club players, but there is a distinguished difference between Ade and RvP.LeftfootlegendGooner wrote:and ade is? If ade is worth 80k a week then rvp is worth 90k imo.
Ade is a very talented player with a strong physical presence up front, that can score from difficult positions...... BUT, there's a big (giant) question mark when it comes to work ethic and effort. His attitude stunk last season and fans (which by the way, pay his £80K a week wages) gave him stick for the transfer saga last summer, he just thought the best way to get back at the fans is to dropp performances...
Rvp is a talented SS, but he is NOT (and i mean it) who he thinks he is. He clearly over estimate his skills and it shows why he insists of shooting from not-so-easy angles, when his mates are in the box unmarked and screaming for the ball. And to end it all, RvP can't be very intelligent either since he is going through the same route as Ade last summer to get a new contract... Publicly and in the press...
Charlie Nic is spot on when he says: Who the hell is RvP to question Arsenal or AW ambitions of winning trophies or
bringing players in???????
Forgot to add, where are holland in world rankings, quite high me thinks.
ade is an old fashioned target man at best, i said the season where he scored 30 goals that that was his purple patch and to be honest if he had been bette rin front of goal he would have scored 45 easily.
Can remember his miss of the season heading against the bar from 1 yard and no goalie in front of him in cl game. he is so inane he doesnt actually understand the offside rule.
