As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I honestly don't think a win tonight will be of any great benefit. With the current spate of injuries we are already having to call on players from what would be considered our "carling cup side".
So I can't see what good a squad stretching and potentially morale crushing two-legged semi-final against either Villa the Mancs or heaven forbid the Chavs would do. The latter of which could easily end in a aggregate score running into double figures.
I hope the team play well tonight and if they can bow out with a decent performance, then it might be better in the long run. I am not saying I hope they lose, but it is more a measure of my dislike for this pointless competition.
i for one am very optimistic about tonight, it would really be a classic result if we can put the ball in the net. i have no doubt we will dominate posession, just like chelsea but its whether we will have that final ball bergkamp moment to get past their physically strong back 3 (wayne bridge is shite).
anyways we have nothing to lose so wenger please just tell me whos in the blooming squad already.
i might even sneak a bet on us if we have a nasri/rosicky combo or maybe walcott vela on the wings.
Tomas Rosicky
Carlos Vela
Aaron Ramsey
Alex Song
Mikael Silvestre
Jack Wilshere
Lukasz Fabianski (GK)
Vito Mannone (GK)
Emmanuel Eboue
Armand Traore
Fran Merida
Kyle Bartley
Francis Coquelin
Craig Eastmond
Emmanuel Frimpong
Kerrea Gilbert
Mark Randall
Sanchez Watt
If we play well we can potentially pull off something imagine the pressure Hughes will be under then? Our little fire crackers can do it, we need a bit of luck of course and stay 100% focussed, good luck to them anyway!
All the pressure is on them £200m team at home after several draws !
He 'rests' him for Sunderland until Diaby got injured.
He took him off for second half against Chelsea when he is our most physical midfielder and leaves on the lightweight Denilson.
He can't be resting him if he plans to include him tonight and he cant have fallen out with him if he's just signed a new deal. Is he just in love with Denilson who is still unproven and not fully fit?! Or is he trying to get the first team to cope with Song's ACN absence?
And why is Nasri automatically first team when Rosicky is not?
Anyway, I'm off to Manchester in an hour for Round 2 of swearing at Greedycunt. Praying its not extra time and snowing.

BT - I would venture that Denilson is proven. Proven to be shite!

I'm certainly not one for blindly sticking up for Wengers decisions in fact 90 % of them flabbergast me, but in this case i could see the logic with Song being taken off on Sunday ahead of Denilson, the game was as good as lost, we had to have a go and looking at the personnel on the pitch Denilson should have offered us more offensively than Song, as it turned out he offered very little, but it was still in my eyes the more logical option given the circumstances. With the Sunderland game, again i can see the logic, i'm assuming he was a combination of resting Song and giving Denilson a run out in prep for when the ANC is on as you suggested, thinking Sunderland would be an easy touch, but as it turned out he under estimated Sunderland or more likely over estimated us.
As for Rosicky why he hasn't been a starter lately is a mystery to me, i just hope its because Wenger wants to break him in gently through the first half of the season so as to avoid any recurrence of the injury, if its any other reason than that the manager has truely lost it.
Enjoy the journey, my guess is looking at the team we are putting out your not going to enjoy the game.
