This is a forum!
It´s about our opinions on different Arsenal-related subjects.
Everybody should post whether or not negative/positive. This forum is only alive and interesting as long as there are different opinions/views.
None but praising and having a ***** :awnker: on Arsène, the club or whatever is blunt.

Top post Rob, I couldn't have put it any better myself. I'm delighted that we're going well at the moment but I'm also very aware it could blow up in our faces yet. Will the manager and board invest from a position of strength in January or will they settle for 4th again????Rob wrote:EC3 wrote:I agree with the original poster.
Yes people are entitled to their opinion and ultimately that is what a message board is all about BUT when then team put in the performances (results) they have then it will (possibly) comeback and bite you in the arse.
I genuinely find it tottaly amazing the stick some posters give out on this board.
To be fair i give them plenty of credit flying over from Ireland to games (big commitment) but some still give some players dog abuse, i cant get me round it.
In my opinion this squard is giving us a lot to be pround of.
Holly Cow ! One win against a possible top four team and every Muppet breathing thinks we are world beaters -![]()
I come all the way from Cambridge not Ireland. But I have a lot of respect for those who make that effort.
We've - still - won nothing for four and a half years and Wenger - he's our Manager by the way- has made an aweful lot of errors along the way. Some - indeed many of us - are not that chuffed with his ineptitude and aren't afraid to point it out.
That's what this Board is all about. If you want to spend your time with your snout stuck up Hill -Wood's backside, you need something more visceral than a messageboard.

This may originally have been a wind up thread just to get the debate going but if was or wasn't it's healthy to have a good chat sometimes!
For what it's worth here's my take on it. It's clear that ths Forum is comprised of youngsters and old gits. The teenagers/20somethings live for the moment, see a 3-0 win against a quality side that takes us temporarily within touching distance of the Chavs and start to believe. Then you have Augie, a supporter from the older generation who doesn't just see the win but counts all the misplaced passes, players out of position, goalkeeping errors etc because that's the type of person he is. Now you could argue that 10 mins after a brilliant, confident boosting result is not the time to be analysing the 'faults' of yesterday and should maybe be left for later but that's the type of bloke he is and nobody is ever gonna change him.
Our problem is that 2004 raised the bar so high that some fans can't and won't accept that Wenger never managed to keep that level up and the last 5 years have therefore been a 'decline'. Others see the move to the Emirates as being a temporary block to progress that was always to going to happen and are prepared to forgive Wenger for persisting with youngsters rather then buying proven quality.
If you don't like reading both views then don't bother logging on but if you do then just accept what you're gonna get from Augie and Tinpot i.e poles apart opinions.
ps We're gonna win the league, we're gonna win the league, and now.................

That's just a cop-out. Is it that you have no more point to make or that you cannot construct a good argument?EC3 wrote:Listen i ain't getting carried away, but if you can't enjoy it now then i think honestly i think you need to give up following football.
I can't be bothered arguing the point the point anymore........any fan who has been going more than 15-20 years knows where i am coming from.
The rest of ya carry on moaning.
Nobody is saying they didn't enjoy the win yesterday, they're just saying that a season isn't won in a single game.

Can I just add that the whole rosetinter v realist thing is getting boring now. Its a forum, there's meant to be difference of opinion, thats what makes it entertaining. It's not a stick to beat eachother with....

Criticising the manager/system/players is not being 'anti-arsenal'. This is coming from somebody whose views this forum would patronisingly label 'rose-tinted'.
At the end of the day we all have views. I found the guy on 606 claiming denilson to be as good as PV to be just as wide of the mark as augie when he said Diaby had a poor game yesterday. Over the 90 minutes he was our Motm. Neither view is anti-arsenal though.
One thing is for sure though, fans of other clubs give this team far more credit then we seem to. Here are some common quotes from villa fans:
"No complaints. Arsenal too good for us when they play like that."
"individually we were nowhere near their level. "

also a lot of referee whining and fabregas lauding. Did anybody here see what song was supposed to be sent off for btw?
I personally view this period as one of transition rather then decline. Mid 1970's was decline... we are the fucking Arsenal, we'll be back.

Well saidRobsy wrote:This might be some alter-ego thingy...anyway, I kinda agree.
This board has been taken over by doomsayers.
There are too many posters who are hyper-critical, hyper-opinionated and hyper-active on the keyboard!
As I walked to the match today, I was thinking how boarders like augie would react if we actually beat Villa today? Which, given a game in hand against Bolton...at home, could leave us sitting pretty.
I've been a poster/member of this board for longer than most and my overriding feeling is that it has become shockingly negative and sometimes even anti-the club.
I think this is why I tend to read rather than post, because I'm unsure at why people who say they support this club, constantly slag it off.

how can they criticize dowd as inconsistent? he consistently allowed dunne, cuellar and petrov to kick the snot out of arshavin and eduardo!LDB wrote:also a lot of referee whining and fabregas lauding. Did anybody here see what song was supposed to be sent off for btw?

I was surprised Song didn't get a yellow when he tackled heskey from behind and missed the ball (this was before the actual yellow he received) but I couldn't see what he did that deserved him to be sent off. Villa fans clutching at straws I think.
