who do we want next round? holidaytastic fun

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

and not a conspiracy theory in sight

So what will you do with your £105 profit, will be in Hull for your round this weekend. :barscarf:

Ps did you hide behind your pillow for the last 5 mins when Lyon should have had at least 2 more goals

Next game over is the shammers game next weekend but have the whole family over for that game so wont be frequenting any of the local public houses :( Anyway I placed the bet with my online account so you dont actually get the cash back into your hand - the wife hates that form of betting cos she wants to see the winnings in front of her

I did have a few nervy moments in the last few mins esp when lissandro broke through and missed an absolute sitter but I aint a big gambler anyway so wouldnt get unduly worried
Now that is a good point, i always bet online, Betfair normally. but do you think when you lose money the fact its not in your hand as would be with your conventional bookie that somehow its not like gambling with real money.
If i get a large win then lose say £50 on a bet the fact i didnt see the money sometimes clouds your judgement :?:

A good tip is to sellotape a £10 and a £50 note to your computer screen and ask yourself which one would you prefer to lose :barscarf:

I'll win a ton if we win the league and £300and bits if we win the CL
and sensible gambler would sell chunks of those bets and get their money back
but I am a quintessential mug punter

This is our year, PL & CL double - the players are playing with no fear - reminds me of glory teams of the past :barscarf:

I only really gamble on the english grand national especially when the weather is shit cos any *word censored* can win it so it levels the playing field for fools like me who know fcuk all about horse racing

Where I do have a few bets is on the world cup finals and euro finals but even then I generally go for more obscure bets like the 1st player to be booked (scholes and rooney are generally safe bets when engerland are playing  )

Never gamble what you can't afford to lose. That way, it's just a bit of fun with a nice reward if things turn out ok....

In other words, by all means bet thousands of pounds on a long shot, but make sure it's on your wife/girlfriends credit card :barscarf:

it was interest free credit (index-linked admittedly)
that I was never actually forced to pay back (always had commission based jobs/investment based income)
I only started paying this year out of guilt
