DC is the only one who can fix some of the issues we face because of 13 years of awful labour policies. who cares if hes a toffee nosed wanker, its whats best for the country that matters.

mm99, yeah lets vote lib dem and let 600,000 illegals stay and let them bring over there whole families, bump them up the council housing lists and let them claim benefits that the actual british people pay for through taxes, and carry on letting ppl in ad infinitum till theres no room left in the country and the whole south east has been concreted over to house everyone..FFS
Oh dear, i know exactly the sort of person i'd be debating with here. There's no point in me even responding if you seriously believe that. Put down your tabloid paper and maybe you wont be so blinkered.
Yep another one

nice right wing bit of polotics there.

Apart from the immigration and the war do you have any other opinion?

No, i'm not going to debate with someone that's speaking in 'text speak' and regurgitates right wing media soundbites and bullshit like "bringing their whole family over, bumping them up the housing list blah blah blah"
I'm fairly sure aswell that you've got your own views on the issue and nothing i say will make you change your mind. So would be a waste of time to be honest.

whys it wrong to have opinion on immigration, it has so many knock on effects, jobs, housing, infrastructure, urban sprawl!!, it has massive impacts.

war i dont care about, shouldnt have started it, but cant leave it in the mess weve made it.

the nhs is in a woeful state at least round my way, i have 1st hand experience of the awful state its in so let someone else have a go.

education, if your clever your clever if your not you cant polish a turd.

economy, public spendding is out of control. as a banker we need to keep our triple a rating for debt, and need quick cuts to satbilise sterling. cons the only one to do that

First of all as much as you love to believe or are led to believe by the tabloids, immigration isn't as high as you think. Sensationalism sells. IMMIGRANT FAMILY STEALS BRITISH JOBS AND HOUSES believe it or not will catch the majority of the public's attention and fulfills the whole point of the paper, to sell more copies. More specifically, you must have noticed the 'Muslim bandwagon' that the tabloids have jumped on recently, telling of shocking levels of muslims in the UK. But in fact theres only approx. 1.6m muslims living in the UK out of 70 odd million. Hardly the 'invasion' that some of the media protray it to be.

Also, who says immigration is a bad thing? The one that you're thinking of where people bring their whole family over here and automatically get houses and put on maximum benefits is grossly exagerrated. It simply is not happening on the scale that you are being led to believe. The immigration which is actually happening are EU nationals who are coming over here and actually contributing to the economy. I don't see any problem is someone who's willing to come over here and work, and contribute to the country and the economy. In the same way that i am able to go abroad and work for say a French company if i wished to do so.

Obviously i haven't gone into as much depth as i could but i hope that's enough at the moment for you.

fair enuff mm99 do you have a view on unlimited immigration then? surely as a small island a limit must be reached eventually? or do you advocate building all over the green belt like is happening in the soth east?

re eu migration i dont mind but it seems odd that there are 2.5 mill unemployed here (admittedly a lot are chavscum who never worked or wanted to) and yet we dont proirotise employing our own first (if they want work which as i said a lot dont cos the benefit system is fucked) its probably against eu law.

do a norway in my view.

Its just always seem to be the first things that those who vote right wing seem to bring up, and the right wing did.

The fact is Me and my family are Immigrants. But are citizens of this country. Most of my family have come over here worked their arses off in many industries, payed their taxes, and worked their arses off.

My parents, and many of my uncles and aunties moved to this country in the 70's. Found themselves confronted with all kinds of prejudice when they came over. But got their heads down and WORKED. The fact is they took the jobs that the majority of the local wouldn’t and contributed more to the building industry than the English....because they were willing, and just wanted to work.

Those who voted Blue soley on immigration are those who are too middle class or scared to voted bnp.

agree major fucked up, but cant necessarily tar cameron with same brucsh, gotta give him a chance as blair was, even though hes a toffee nosed wanker.

northbank, ppl get annoyed about those not working, thats the issue not those that do on the main, and this seems to have occurred majorly in the last 5 years or so. BUT immigration is finite it cant happen forever if those already here want jobs, but cant get them, cos of ppl coming in, that seems wrong to me.

(note i said those here who WANT jobs i admit loads dont as they are chavscum and benefits are far to genrous)

Of course there has to be a degree of control over immigration, otherwise as you say the country will just be over crowded.

But the simple facts are that immigration is not as big an issue as papers like the sun and the daily mail seem to make out. Or parties like the BNP do. It seems to be the only issue that they are ever so sure about. As if immigration is the be all and end all of the countrys problems. There are so many more important issues that need addressing that are way, way more grander than a small percentage of people coming over to the UK.

bren another thing, its key to intergrate..immigrants cant have there own enclaves and for example demand sharia law (if their moslems) racism, at least open racism disappered in the 90's mostly, so there really wasnt any excuses for ppl not intergrating. unfortunately that racism is potentially coming back

not only that mantis but people forget what immigrant have done for this country in the past.

I am yet to find many arguments against immigration that dont border on racism/facism...(NOT ACCUSING MANTIS OF THIS!!!!!!!)

My problem is this is by no way the biggest issue at moment in this country, just an excuse for change.
