Would this have been accepted by Adams or Vieira, if a similar situation could've occured?

Just because Cesc's relatively younger, it doesn't make him any less culpable. A true leader, and a player loyal to this fine club of ours, wouldn't have laughed and played along like he did.

Yes, maybe they were just "larking around", but it was at the expense of every Arsenal fan and the club that pays his wages.

What has Reina that fucking bald prick got to do with Cesc and Barcelona the scouse *word censored*. Can't wait to go to liverpool and shout abuse at the wanker.

Pique the big gay *word censored*, along with that caveman looking bastard and the diving shithouse Busquets who winds me right up just by having to look at his mug. And don't get me started on that little runt Xavi.

Has there ever been a bigger collection of absolute *word censored* in one club?

Seriously, it's trivial. In fact, it's so way beyond trivial it's ridiculous. I can't even begin to understand what the big deal is.

bunch of happy, cheeky lads in their 20s larking about and taking the piss. Shock horror.... would never happen in England. Far to sensible over here.

They Just won the world cup, they're all happy (and probably had a drink!) and his mates are larking around with a Barca shirt.... big deal!

They are just a bunch of lads in their 20s - people shouldn't take their every action so seriously. It's banter. Cheeky yes, but not worth getting upset about.
I'd agree 100% - the problem is recent history has many Gooners very insecure about Arsenal's desire to put the best team on the pitch and keep its best players - and that holds true even if my doubts about the Board's ambition are invalid.

The Board has a serious PR problem in its desire to remain secretive about its ambitions and how it seeks to ahcieve them and how all these decision since 2005 realte to this. At the very least the Board's siilence leaves room for confusion uncertainty and doubt. And that silence combined with the actions that speak far louder than the words they have spoken do has everyone very worried, and this is why some more complete or candid answers might benefit the Board. as well as the supporters
Seriously? :? "The Board" AGAIN??!!  :?

Martin, this has got fuck all to do with the board - it's people getting all touchy and precious just because a bunch of deliriously happy young lads have been a bit cheeky with a Barca shirt. End of.

People should be able to seperate what the Arsenal board are up to and the prank Puyol, Pique and Reina pulled whilst larking around tonight.

You're trying to once again steer a conversation towards the board, and it's just not necessary. I'm sure you have enough threads on that by now, surely? bump them instead!
No the point is simple - the Board's actions have had wide-reaching implications on the club. Tell me the same thing would be happening the same way if the Board was showing more ambtiion for the team it puts on the pitch. Seriously. Maybe its "Six Degrees of the Board" Reina puts Barca Shirt on Cesc, Barca wants to buy Cesc, Cesc wants to join Barca because Arsenal can't win things,Arsenal can't win things because it cuts spending too much, Arsenal cuts spending by investing less in football team, Arsenal has to cut spending because it decides not sell Highbury as planned - there's six degrees.

Besides as I said quite clearly even if I'm worng it raises the issue of the Board having awful PR and not communicating what its really trying to do and how these decisions make doing that possible.

Hell Tony Adams WAS ready to leave but because the Board weren't so desperate to generate cash to pay off things by selling players no one really knew for sure till years later because the club at least presented information that was consistent with its actions and views. Maybe if they did that now we'd know whether to worry about this. As I said earlier to me it means little either way other than during this time period we are clearly more of a selling club still and this is hardly ressuring given that alone. And the Board is the ultimate decider on these things. It's their club after all.
You're like a dog with a bone. You can twist everything to make it an issue of the board. It's just something you're going to repeat over and over and over and over and over....

It's just not necessary in every post. It's ruining threads. Can't you just put a little comment about the board on your signature and br done with it.

I'd rather you had your own thread and kept bumping it, to be honest. It's just getting silly.
Gooner why do you want to pretend there s a million different problems when there's one main one? One main one which if solved can eliminate a lot of very unhappy threads and leave discussing far more positive issues far more often. Doo you just enjoy being angry all the time about your club and would rather that never end because its more fun to be angry all the time? Would you rather see Arsenal lose more often than win because winning is just not as fun for you?

I asked you rearler and you avoided answering - do you think supporters would be as bothered by this if not for the Board's actions regarding our players since 2005 - no answer it yes or no. Do you really believe the Board's actions haven't contributed to the negative atmosphere for supporters? Would anyone give a damn about this if there weren't genuine doubts about the Board's ambition to keep Cesc and players like him the past several years?

You can say my posting about the Board is runing threads. I'd say the Board's actions are why those threads even exist in the first place.

The issue is, our club captain is wearing the shirt of one of our main competitors - and who knocked us out of the CL last season - and not seeming to give a hoot about it.

Toss in the fact that he's allegedly signing for them, and that AW and the club are up in arms about it (due to him breaching his contract and loyalty to the club and its fans if he does go), and you can see why some Arsenal fans may not see the funny side.

Sounds like you'd be happy to join them on the podium.

If they’re all as close as they claim/seem to be then he shouldn’t have had a problem saying it & they shouldn’t have had a problem respecting his wish.
But how do you know that he hasn't asked them to calm it down a bit??? and how do you know they'd listen??

We don't know anything. The Barca boys may like Cesc, but if they want to talk to the press and lark about on stage with a Barca shirt then that's that. Cesc may not be encouraging it, but he's hardly going to make a big thing of it either is he! - they're his world cup team mates, and taking on the Barca dressing room his hardly a good move when you're trying to break into the team, is it. He's probably been sucking up big time to Xavi, Iniesta and co. all month!

Damn right, I'd love to win the world cup! and I'd certainly not allow myself to get sidetracked by trivial things like a mate forcing a Barca shirt over my head! life's too short, and there's plenty of celebrating to do!

Woaw talk about peer pressure, you can't say they dint mean it just because they had a couple of drinks.
Have they no shame turning the night from a world cup celebration for spain into a Cesc for barca thing.

1mill+ spaniards came to celebrate spain not barca.

I hope our club players never sink to that level.

nothing against you USmartin, but seriously mate, it IS really getting boring. if i put up a "tit thread" i'm sure you're gonna complain that one of the birds' arsehole looks weird because the board took the wrong decisions since 2005...

it is seriously getting boring. we get your point, you want the board sacked. you thing everything is the board's fault. see? in one line i just explained all you've been writing since you joined.

let's talk about something more interesting mate, like gnuey's 2 incher for example

I love how the whole Spain squad are a bunch of "cheeky, happy lads in their 20's, just larking about". What age has to do with it, I dont know. They are paid professionals that have made Cesc look like an absolute prick infront of half the world and insulted Arsenal, as a football club, along with all its fans and affiliates. Really? You dont feel any hate towards them whatsoever?

Pique-Loves Tennis
Puyol-Had his own cartoon called captain cave man + he's a *word censored*
Xavi-doesn't seem to be able to keep his mouth shout and he looks like an owl. His eyes piss me off.
Busquets-Is on the floor more than hes on his feet, which is strange for a defensive midfielder
Reina-Done himself a few favours tonight....(comment deleted by IHH)

Would go on but its getting late. Capdevilla's welcome for a pint any time mind.

Exactly we don't know anything but recent history which suggests we have every reason to be insecure about keeping him because of yes the Board's recent actions since 2005 with the club's finances and players.

The Board could me it crystal clear he's not for sale but they haven't done that clearly before this even.

Like I say this may be nothing more than a prank and some overexuberance from the Spanish lads, and you may well be right that Gooners are overreacting but in the context of recent history it will appear much worse as long as we continue the current policies put in place by the Board without the Board adequately explaining them at some point soon.
