As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
It's a no win situation for him.
As much as he's in form at the moment and having a appreciation thread on here. It can all change in an instance.
Look at Al!
Before the West brom game, we all knew we needed a keeper.
One penalty save and a major boost of confidence and is commanding claiming and everything. Come the second half and he walks out with big red floppy shoes, painted face, a wig and a big red nose!
I certainly hope for Lukasz that it doesn't change and long may this form continue.
I'm slowly, with each cross, growing into something called "confidence" But I do fear a "fuck off flappy" thread is only around the corner.
Still with our first choice keeper in Lukasz in the sticks we should see Chesney on Wednesday.
The question is Almunia finished at The Arsenal or will Wenger give him another chance?
I would rather Flappy, who is younger & has more future potential, get a run of games as long as he plays well enough to merit his place with Screzny as backup & potential future No 1 until the end of the season.
Can't see any chance of buying a top class keeper who's not European cup tied during the winter transfer window so that seems the logical choice until next summer.
Gut feeling is that Wenger will put the clown back in the side as soon as the opportunity presents itself.
Almunina is total crap, he would easily have let in more than one of the shots that Flappy saved yesterday.
We will never win anything with that clown Almunia in the team
As i said before this is Flappys longest run of games so far at Arsenal. He has never had a solid run before so maybe we were harsh on him.
Lets give him a song and get behind him. He said himself he dreams of the day when the fans sing his name. I nearly laughed when he said that.
Now i feel we should.

Any ideas??????
We were harsh on him for a reason. He made two many fuck ups.In over 40 years of watching Arsenal he is by far the worst keeper i have seen. The reason why he wasnt given a run was of the mistakes he made.Yes he played well yesterday but he is not the answer to our keeper problems. We need a top quality keeper and Flappy is not that.I would compare yesterday performance to Mannone's at Fulham last season and look where he is now

Like others have said, this is all we have. We either get behind him or carry on with the abuse and constant red faced shouting till my head starts to ache like a raging hangover!!!!!!
He has made loads of mistakes and sadly i was at the match nearly evertime. Wigan being the worst of all and the most heart breaking.
Saying that he has never had a solid run so maybe what Wenger and others see in training is paying off????
He only played 360 minutes of football in the leauge last season and never a solid run. Look at Gomez at spuds he was bad for nearly a whole season then he found his form.
Flappy is shit no doubt, or he is shit on the big day but in training good? who knows?
I do think he has earned for us fans to get behind him though. Build his confidence even more , who knows we might survive.
He has been good the last few matches and people have always said a good keeper wins you points. Well Flappy did sunday.
I agree, to an extent, with donaldo about why Fabianski was being treated as Flappy the clown. Fabianski did get runs in the team, when Almunia was injured (end of last season for example), but over the last 2 or so seasons, Fabianski has looked increasingly hapless. Weak when coming out for crosses, unable to get his handling right or save even the simple shots. Now he is back to something that he has shown sometimes in the past but only a few games, we need to see if he can keep it up and if he can now battle on after a mistake and not collapse like he used to
The big problem is we dont want to end up with another Almunia situation. He was no good when he took over from Jens and ended up our keeper for the next 3 seasons.
A club the size of Arsenal should have one of the top 5 keepers in Europe not someone who happens to be in the right place at the wrong time.Flappy is in goal now not because he is any good but because Almunia fucked up against WBA.
The goalkeeping situation has been a fucking shambles at the club with Almunia fucking up then replaced by Flappy who fucks up to be replaced by Almunia who is then replaced by Mannone then Almunia comes back then Flappy takes over then Almunia comes back and now we have Flappy back until he fucks up again and back comes Average Al

This is down to 1 man, and his name is Wenger. Its a disgrace that its gone on for so long. End of the day we cant fight it anymore, he wont change and i doubt he will sign a keeper.
Flappy is all we have, he is on form at the moment) so lets hope he carrys on being on form a few more matches. If getting behind him helps then we have no choice really.

To the melody of 'One Dennis Bergkamp':
There's only one Fa-bi-an-ski,
One Fa-bi-an-ski,
He used to be shite,
But now he's al-right,
Walking in a Fabby wonderland.
