Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has spoken out after allegations concerning his private life were carried in a national newspaper.
The football manager said the claims were a "serious matter" that he wished to deal with "privately".
Arsenal Football Club echoed the sentiment, calling for Wenger and his family's privacy to be respected.
The comments follow a front page article in The Sun containing allegations surrounding the 61-year-old's personal life.
Responding to the story, Wenger said in a statement: "This is a very serious matter. I do not intend to make any comment and wish to deal with the matter privately."
A club statement read: "Arsenal Football Club considers the allegations concerning our manager Arsene Wenger strictly a private matter and we ask that the privacy of Arsene and his family be respected."

As long as he carries on leading our club from the front, keeps the team playing great football ( possibly the best we'll see anywhere
), continues unearthing and showing faith in talented young players, as he always has done ( too many to name ), and maintains the quality and standards( that we sometimes take for granted as GOONERS ) he has brought to the club since '96
Arsene, you can do nothing ( or very little ) wrong.

I guess the only public problem that comes from this is that Wenger holds himself up as a parragon of virtue on most things and for all his annoying traits, he has always seemed to have integrity and a good moral compass. This takes the shine of that a bit and undermines his high moral stance on most things, not least his dislike for misbehaving players.

Really rotten for his family to have what is a private matter paraded for all to see.
It does raise questions as to Wenger's judgement, all those trips to Paris to commentate on French football were s surely not for the money...now we can guess why he was so keen to do them.
I reckon he would not be having an affair if he was happy or personally fulfilled, again this raises questions as to how he has coped with stress and his judgement.
