Whoever diagnosed him as "out for 8-10 days" nearly 5 months ago needs shooting. Our medical staff are useless!!
i did think the same, 5 months to realise surgery might be an option? If he had had surgery 5 months ago, he might be back now or soon possibly...likely by march i would have thought which is when TV expects to be backTeeCee wrote:This is disgraceful, someone at Arsenal needs sacking (for once I don't mean Wenger)! That's appalling!
Well now Wenger has to sign someone, cheap Frenchman anyone??
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 17,00.htmlArsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen is set to undergo surgery on his Achilles injury which will rule him out for six weeks.
Vermaelen has been out of action since suffering the Achilles problem while on international duty at the start of September.
Arsenal had been hoping that Vermaelen would return to action this month, but they have now decided to send under the knife to correct the problem.
The Belgian international is hoping to be back playing in between four to six weeks after undergoing the surgery in Sweden.
"I'll undergo this operation in Sweden," said Vermaelen.
"According to the specialist who will operate on me it's a little tendon situated beside the Achilles tendon which is provoking the irritation."
Hmm... TV goes from being 1 game out, to being virtually retired, and by the standards set by our supposedly great back room staff, this is probably one of their greatest achievements...Big_G wrote:Vermaelen set for Achilles op

SPEND SOME MONEY ARSENE
Until he got injured last season I don't think he missed a league gameSammyDroppedHisShorts wrote:Is it me or has TV5 picked up the RvP11 bug for chocolatitus?
Last season he suffered fronma suspected broken leg...he also limped out when we lost at the Lane.....and then in August he like RvP and his injury jinx, got nobbled playing for his country.
Holland and Belgium have a lot to answer for...these two nations have effectively stolen over a year of football combined in injuries for OUR two players?
Two key players losing more matches through injury than they actually play.
Does anyone know how many times Vermaelen has played for Arsenal and how many matches he has missed due to injury?
