As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Spot on ihh
If arsenel were relegated people would still defend him!!!
except we havent ever looked like being in the wafa cup
get some perspective
people back wenger because we have always been there or there abouts with a smaller budget than our rivals
if we looked like not qualifying for the CL that is when sensible people would feel the manager is under pressure
I am not getting in to another debate which consists of wenger is the high and mighty bollocks. That performance last night was pathetic to say the least, and all arsene could say was "there was no spark"
Im sorry but for a manager that has won nothing in the past 6 years that is not a good enough excuse.
i was there last night(for a change)and ive never been as angry with 11 so called footballers as i was last night.
If these prima donas cant be motivated by a possible wembley final then all is indeed lost.
I ache for the players we had at The Arsenal from the 70s right now.
Ill name just 1 player from that era..GEORGE ARMSTRONG..That man ran his heart out every game..He was a wonderful winger AND ive never seen a player since who tracked back when needed.
It would do a fair few of the present team to look at old videos of this great great player..
But who am i kidding?
They will be too busy ordering their lastest fast car or buying their girlfrinds another piece of jewellery.
Its taken me a long time to realise that this isnt the 70s but i expext a certain ammount of honesty from players who lead a very very lucky and easy life compared to most of us.
The only people i feel sorry for right now are the fans who regularly follow The Arsenal to these away games.
I was at ipswich at 4pm yesterday and there were Gooner fans everywhere..Young and old..Men,women and children.
These fans had obviously booked days off from work etc and look what they witnessed.
Im the lucky one because i wont go again..Most there last night, will,of course
spend their hard earned and use up their holiday entitlement to follow these pampered players.
But one day more people will realise that their money will be better spent elswhere.

I could guarantee we'd get some absolute loada bollox like Scolari or sumat, and be mid table within 2 years. It would honestly go that way! Hopefully we'll never know. This age of instant success is so shite! Fuck me I wish Abramovi$h had preferd baseball or something and never started this buy to win bollox!!! Grass aint always greener! Ask Leeds & Lpool fans!
Instant success? Six years without a trophy you fucking wanker.
As someone that used to be one of the biggest rose-tinters around, it's sad to see the rubbish arguments (and the needless abuse) that rose-tinters come out with now.
Not the manager's fault??
He brought every one of those players to the Club, he awarded them humungous contracts and we have to pay fortunes for our tickets to fund those contracts.
Then the manager picks them week in week out, he stands there whilst so many of them just go through the motions each week, he always seeks to defend them and make excuses like they're tired or the pitch is poor and every season it all falls apart when the pressure games come around.
The buck stops with Arsene Wenger cos top, top managers like Ferguson and Mourinho would have the savvy to change things by now.
In France, Arsene is known as The Nearly Man - that describes him perfectly!!

Here, here. And some of them are quite abusive too.
It astounds me that people like 'Jonny' don't understand Wenger's job title
MANAGER
That means it's Wenger's responsibility and job to do the following with his players:
Manage
Coach
Train
Motivate
Talk tactics
Reward when doing a good job
Discipline or take positive action when not doing a good job
It's very clear that Wenger is failing miserably in many areas of his job!

Now I am not saying Wenger is squeaky clean after the past 5 years, but how on earth was yesterday his fault in any way???? He picked our strongest 11 available pretty much and if you don't think that lot shouldn't have beat the whipping boys Ipswitch, then I won't even say f**k off and support sp*rs, choose a different sport entirely, as you know nothing about the game.
Players fault this time. Wenger 100% squeaky clean on this occasion! They had no passion or respect
I dont think fans are calling for Wengers head based on last nights result alone. Yes I agree that the players should hang their heads in shame for not putting in 100% but ultimately it was Wenger who picked the lacklustre team.
The calls for Wenger to go have been getting louder and louder for quite sometime now, at least two seasons. In this time we have seen some fantastic performances, unfortunately we have also seen some major tactical blunders by Wenger. All good managers will on occaision make tactical mistakes, sadly Wenger keeps making the same mistakes over and over again without learning from them.
I'm sure some of the calls for Wenger to leave will subside should we win the beer cup, football fans are generally a fickle bunch, personally I think he should go at the end of the season regardless. He has been a great manager and has helped change the modern game, however he is showing signs of stagnating and I believe it is time for a change.
jonny3110 wrote:Yea, you are 100% wrong. Not a rosetinter, think there need to be major changes, BUT just can't get my head around last night being Arsenes fault!! If the players can't get motivated by thought of Wembley and a Trophy for the first time for mopst of them, but need a ray winstone character kicking shit out of them in the changing rooms at HT, then they need to look at themselves not Arsene!
...but they've got a great attitude and great mental strength... AW on numerous occasions

For me this is the biggest problem with Wenger at the moment. He seems to have the imability to look at what has happened over the past few years and see why our title challenges have fallen off and correct them. Every year we have the same problems, bad defending, poor goalkeeping and not enough goals in games we dominate and those things were fixed we would be flying. How many times over the past few years have the keepers cost us in big games yet Wenger keeps the faith when its clear that they arent up to stratch. Same can be said for the defence and now when our best two CBs are injured he refuses to spend some money to make the club better now instead of trying to develop from within and being great in 5 years time adn getting left behind now.

To be fair at one point or another in AW's career at Arsenal we were all 'rosetinters' and I fucking hate how we very rarely refer to each other as Gooners, we're either a fucking rosetinter or a fucking realist, fucking bullshit I'm not belittleing anyone or their views/opinions just fucking venting
Who really is calling for his head ,15 to 20 people on a website and the media questioning what he is doing (just for a change).
He has his faults and they are growing but anyone who says different on here gets quickly rounded on and driven off by the cyber warrior types on here.
Unless of course you are US Martin who will grind you down or me who will just trade insults all day if needed.
Dont kid yourselves you form a majority cos it simply isnt so !
Herd, I am certainly not suggesting that the majority of Gooners want Wenger out but the numbers that do are certainly growing with each disappointment.
