I want to be like afc wozza, he sees the good in our current situation but alas right now i cannot
Dont get me wrong, i as much as any other Arsenal fan am extremely frustrated with the lack of success, and yes i can understand people's anger at the current situation. BUT.. i just see a different slant to others.. we are set up for the next decade.. success is so close.. we are attracting the cream of the crop young players wise, we have a number of very very talented young English players, Gibbs, Wilshere, Walcott, JET, Frimpong, Lansbury, Bartley, Afobe, Aneke. We have a number of foriegners who are coming in with a massivly growing reputation.

The core of our team is still at a young age.. Vermuelen 25, Koscielny 25, Djourou 24, Clichy 25, Sagna 28, Fabregas 23, Nasri 23 ,Diaby 24, Song 23, Walcott 21, Ramsey 20, Van Persie 27, Chamakh 27, Arshavin 29, Bendtner 23.

All these players over the next 5 years if they can say together they can go places big time, with a few younger players coming through and a few experienced ones were nearly there.

We desperatly need this winner under our belt, we CAN go on to great things
Absolutely disagree...Wenger has forgotten how to put together a team of winners. No matter how young, for how long they are togther, I don't think it will make the slightest difference, until Wenger change his policy.

Pretty football, but when it comes to the crunch, the time to make it count, then we will fall short. The margins at the top are small, but that's what seperates the really men from the nearly men.

Your absolutely entitled to your opinion mate, personally i believe that they need to get that winning belief. We do struggle mentally, but the only way to concour that is win. The SQUAD can become winners, we need to get into the groove.

That's exactly the problem, I think. Those players won't stay for years when we fail to win prizes, I mean, even in a Carling Cup final they couldn't win some silverware. Besides, top players won't sign for Arsenal (Wenger won't do it anyway, but still), because we don't win any silverware.

Most of our players don't really care about Arsenal and the fans, they just want to win prizes for their own good. If they don't achieve that, they're off.

next decade? Are you talking about 2020ies??? can't you see this is madness???

I remember very clearly on this forum circa 2008, someone very much like you was trying to convince people here that we are very close to greatness and that this Arsenal team is all geared up for season 2009/10 or 2010/11 can't remember which one...and now we are talking about 'next decade' and you are mentioning players that in couple of seasons will be playing first team football...for the likes of Hull, Cardiff etc...

I think time for excuses and future (that somehow never comes) is over, it has to happen this season or Wenger has to go. Enough of real-time mediocrity and 'greatness' that exists only in our mangers and players heads...

We can't even rely on our best players when we need them, so RVP is now out of the Barcelona game along with Theo and Cesc - our fucking captain who pulls a hamstring 15 mins into a game before a cup final.

Speechless - it's failed Wenger. Watch the team and our season implode from here on in. We've given United the perfect fillet this weekend, I can only see a heavy defeat in the cup to them giving them the wind in their sails for the rest of the season.

So depressed and fucked off at our nearly men who will be remembered as just that, ultimately losers in the true sense fo the word.
Sorry Rob - I'll put it down to post Sunday hangover.....but you are talking b*ll*cks. I won't even read the 4 pages of postings for fear that everyone else agrees with you....

Wenger's failed, Wenger out.... What a load of cr*p. Had to put up with it on walk back to Wembley Park from some nutter who appeared intent on causing serious harm to anyone who disagreed (think he may even post on here and lives in Spain???).

FACT - we just lost what everyone considers to be the 4th most important competition - only marginally more important than Emirates Cup according to some.

FACT - We are still in the FA Cup, Champions League and Premier League title race

FACT - We beat the best club side in the world 2-1 and go out to Spain with a chance of getting through..... No-one would go out there as favourites - but we have at least given ourselves a fighting chance

FACT - Despite the obvious wealth of Chelsea and Man City, there is at the moment only one team challenging debt ridden United for the Premier League - Arsenal........!!!

I was gutted when we lost to Birmingham - and yes, there is a risk that we will implode - and if we do then there will be genuine reason to moan. But at the moment it's a bit fecking premature to say that the project has failed!!!!

That maybe so Mick and on writing your right.

But I cant see us getting past Manure at their ground

I cant see us getting past the quarters even if we beat Barca

And with the injury’s I cant see us winning all of our league games.

Even if this does happen nothing will change and the project will continue?

How will you feel if by May we are in the same situation yet again?

Lets see. If we lose to Barca and United (or Orient) and finish below 2nd in the Prem then I'd kind of agree that it will have been a disappointing season - given the position we were in a few days ago.

But that's a mile away from the clamour that some have got for Wenger out. That bloke at Wembley Park was saying that Denis Bergkamp should be our Manager..... Really...... With what track record is that? Who else would you prefer? Owen Coyle maybe?

I'm old enough to know that it's possible to be successul without Wenger, but I'm realistic enough to know that as disasters go Wenger is a mild cold compared to the earthquake/tsunami etc where we could have been these last few seasons given the expense of the new ground etc.

Still playing for 3 major trophies - a position only matched by United!

For me it mostly depends whether Wenger brings in a defensive coach.
We concede silly goals.

The scoring of goals is not too much of a problem.

We also need a higher level of "Second choice" players, ones who step in when first team players are injured.
I have faith that Frimpong (if he recovers from injury), Ramsey (if he recovers from injury), Coquelin, Botelho, Afobe etc will be an improvement on the sub standard Denilson and Diaby and Bendtner, and take us over the tipping point.

But time will tell.

For me I would love Wenger to be pulled over hot coals.

His job to be in jeopardy unless he uses some money and signs some much needed players. Also that he end contracts to some of the dead wood.

This is the first thing a new Manager would do and that has to be fact!

If I had the choice of Wenger doing this or any other Manager around I would chose Wenger

Sadly THERE IS NO CHANCE OF Wenger changing back to the way he used to be.

We'll know in 3 weeks how we stand.

In fact in the PL we may even know by the weekend.

Its a bit early to be declaring that its failed, can't we wait till united and barca beat us.

Im confident that if we don't win anything Arsene will strengthen, have faith.

If he doesn't.

1991 – you cant really believe that or is it that you just to believe it? Ha-ha

TV will be back next season – new signing

Ramsey – new Signing next season

Bartley – new Signing

Frimpong – new signing

Wellington or Daniele son - new signings

San Miguel or what ever his name is – new signing

JET should be ready for more games next season – new signing

Though all said players will need a few years to mature

We wont ever sign a star with that old wanker in charge , fuck him and fuck the club
